my point is he won 3 SBs with 3 different QBs and really, that's all that matters. Also, you bringing up his return to coaching after being out for a long, long time and working under Snyder is really a non-factor. But whatever, I still think Gibbs HC record under Snyder is better than Shanny's overall record under Snyder (might be wrong on that).

lets set aside the QB dynamic for a moment.
has shanny ever coached ANY foortball position other than QB or WR, EVER, college, high school?
the answer is NO !
how are shannys special teams?
what about his defensive influence?
Shanny is always willing to accept all the credit for a great running game, correct/
what has he ever done without TURNER or GIBBS ?
shanny is just a figurehead. who caught lighning in a bottle in 1995. again in 15 years I continue to ask what decent coaching hire has shanny made other than the 3 i mentioned, ?
Now ask your self the same question about guys whio DESERVE to be called great coaches, guys like bill walsh and lombardi and paul Brown

No, you are correct. Gibbs had 2 winning seasons (10, 9 wins) and two losing seasons (5,6 wins). Shannahan has 1 winning (10 wins) and 3 losing (6, 5 and TBD)

Some of this is nonsense - - particularly the part about Shanahan engaging in character assassination of Haynesworth - - but it's getting nastier by the hour.
Interesting read.

Shanny is definitely angling to get canned and wants to get out of dodge. Article mentions that Shanahan wants to coach at Houston, interesting scenario.

snyder should just let shanny sleep in the bed he has made for the rest of the season.

If shanny has ANY clue he will play cousins.

But even if he does, he will be so pre-occupied with proving cousins... my favorite pass junkie will neglect his run game and continue to lose games aided by his worthless special teams and ill equipped defense.
shanny didnt need snyder to prove to me that he was little more than a figurehead HC with the skill level of a QBcoach / OC .

Shannahan has quit. His team quit. They know the players quit. They know Shannahan quit. they know change is coming.

They just don't care anymore. Very similar mindset that the Chiefs had last year when dumpster fire Pioli was running the franchise.

Shanny is angling to get fired , rather than quit... 7 mill is SEVEN MILLION.

And Houston would be INSANE to hire him. Although for Shannys purposes he would have the #1 pick in the draft and the ammo to restock the team at its need positions. Houston Doesn't need Shanny to do that, and Shanny brings Defensive and Special teams collapse with him. ( See Slowick, Bob).

I don't think Shanny gets another HC gig, anywhere ....His rep is now set in stone.
Owners don't like coaches that throw them under buses.

Shanny will now go to TV analyst ( and probably fail there...he has no personableness).

I remember the home game the Broncos knocked Banks out, then Kent Graham came on in relief to beat them.

What I meant is that is the only spot where someone might want him.

His ego is too big to accept less than coordinator/HC positions.

I don't think he'd even take a coordinator position. When he took the Foreskin Job, he was dead set at having final say on personnel moves and got his way.

Skins purportedly investigating whether they can fire Shanahan "for cause" to avoid the 7 million hit.

Teams will normally put it out there through "sources" if they are interested in one way or another.
My guess is, Rick Smith wants no part of a reunion with Shanny.
They've let it be known they want to interview Shaw, Wisenhunt and many others through "sources" but the only guy they reportedly don't want is Shanny.

Texans just failed with Shanny's protégée.
Not sure why they would want to go down a similar route

I wouldn't be surprise if they give Lovie Smith a call
I doubt Shanny is a head coach next year
Could be done for good as a HC in the NFL

I'd definitely interview Lovie Smith. But he would have to prove he was willing to ensure he hired a heck of a offensive staff to make me comfortable.
Now a lot of his issues in Chicago was Angelo pulling a Polian and stinking up the joint on drafts.

If I was Houston, I'd hire the DC from Cincy... but I guess they have a hard on for Wisenhunt? Meh.

Me too, I hope he gets another chance just not in DC or Denver; maybe Dallas or San Diego.

I already know how his legacy ends if given that final chance
