Dalai Lama readings and growing his own food... Almost Ricky Williams esque.

I think he'll regret not finishing the season and spending time considering it over the offseason, but good luck to him.

Wish he could have made it through the season, and his timing with the Coach Fox heart issue is terrible.

That being said, best of luck to him in the future -- he seems like a very intelligent and thoughtful young man who is choosing quality of life over quantity of cash.

I hope this isn't because Kuper was bullying him.

Contrary to popular belief it takes guts to make that decision.

Think it would've been best if he finished out the season, then take a long few months to think it over, and make sure he's making the right decision. Never want to make a rush decidion in this sort of situation and with all the money he'll be giving up.

Now that he's out from behind the NFL shield, Moffitt said he's looking forward to speaking his mind on the radio and in podcasts he's going to produce. He said he has plenty of opinions to share on everything from philosophy to politics, although he has less to say about sports.

He said he also wants to go on a diet now that he doesn't have to maintain his 319-pound physique.
Every part of this makes me wonder if he's about to PEDs whistle blow. Something that is SORELY overdue in the NFL.

This is the dude who got busted for pissing in a parking lot (uromysitisis!) and also was seen picking his knows and eating his nose goblins, right?

I think that pretty much explains his financial decision to pass up on 300 grand to ride the bench.

Not a loss. He wasn't playing and was em emergency depth.
Now we'll get to see how Walton comes back. Still want to see a C or G in the top 3 rounds next year.

best wishes to him, but as others have said, I'm not sure why he doesn't just finish out the season and then call it over. This oline has had a lot of injuries so it's not unpossible that he would get some playing time.

I have a bit of an issue with him quitting, but he's not being a jerk about it, and with Walton's return, it seems to have worked out for everyone as best as a scenario like this can.

Most of us would have just went to the facility and collected money.
I applaud him for quitting the job that he didn't like.

From his interview yesterday with Gary Miller and Nalen, it (to me) did not sound like a whistle blower move.

He made a comment about how anti-government he is and that he's hasn't been able to share because he was in the NFL.

He also spoke a lot about how he just lost the passion for the game and that he was just ready to move on. He also spoke about his future and his health, that with all the information available today, it made his decision easier.

I got the impression he just didn't want to fake it, and it wasn't fair to anyone else on the team if he did. I can respect that.

I think it's poor judgment and potentially too rash to just up and do it mid-season, but otherwise I agree and he obviously knows his circumstances much better than I do.

I wonder if the timing has anything to do with Walton coming back. If he knew the Broncos were going to have to cut someone, and he wasn't into it anyway, then all the more power to him for stepping down so they didn't have to cut someone else.
