Just finished watching the Suns vs Nugs. Good game but not thanks to the refs. The NBA has really become the ticky tack league. There's just no more flow to games anymore for the most part. Half the time it really feels like the refs are just guessing out there and so many damn phantom calls it's just pathetic to watch. The college game is so much better officiated it's not even funny.

Hmm, I'd say it is the opposite. College refs get more influenced by college coaches and crowds then the refs in the NBA do. There's a very large difference in the amount of calls you get as the home team at the college level, where as in the NBA I think that difference is not as large.

Nuggets make two trades at deadline

By Raj Sharan
ESPN Denver

The long Andre Miller saga reached its conclusion on Thursday prior to the NBA Trade Deadline. Miller goes to Washington in a three-team deal with the Nuggets receiving Jan Vesely and the Sixers getting Eric Maynor and two 2nd-round picks (2015 from Washington, 2016 from Denver). Vesely was the 6th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft but has yet to realize his potential. His greatest asset to the Nuggets may be his expiring contract at the end of the season.

That trade created an opening for the Nuggets to complete a trade with the Rockets. That deal sends Jordan Hamilton to Houston for Aaron Brooks. Brooks will help fill an immediate hole at point guard with Ty Lawson and Nate Robinson injured. He also has an expiring contract.

Spurs are Rollin. Best team basketball I've ever watched during this stretch of games.

Suns remaining schedule is brutal. 5 of the last 8 on the road, 6 of their last 8 opponents are the spurs, mavs, thunder, blazers, grizzlies and clippers. Think they'll miss the playoffs by a nose.

Very entertaining playoffs so far. A lot of good matches being played. Need the Heat to wrap the series 2night. Need BrookvsRaps to go 7. I'd like to see the Bulls win their next game along with the Hawks.

I do think they are pretty vulnerable to whoever comes out of the west though. I'm not betting against LeBron James, he's the best in the league, but the rest of that team is 75 percent of Dwayne Wade and turd soup.

I think Indiana will figure it out and could still possibly come out of the East. If they went down 3-1 vs the Hawks. And damn did they blow it(atl). You never know. Washington looks good and can definitely battle with the Pacers and win that series. Now looking at Brooklyn/Raps. I see the Raps taking it, but that series can go either way. I'd prefer the Heat play the Raps.

CB1 doesn't get any credit. He pretty much gets ****ted on when he's not knocking down 3's/missing j's. But, he helps Miami doing the small things. Huge asset for them. Overall the team is fine. Wade looks all right. Miami should get back to The Finals. A very focused veteran team.

As mentioned, need the Heat to wrap the series up 2nite and get some rest. Other series go full 7.

Nice 3 ball by Diaw.

Tough as hell layup attempt by Ellis. I'd rather have penetration by Ellis and kick out for a J.

GG Spurs.

I'd like to see the series go 7.

The Bulls have to make this off-season count.
You are now in a position where you have to bring in Carmelo, bring Mirotic over, use those 2 draft picks and hit on them.
We cannot count on Rose to come back and save things.

I dont think they can afford both Carmelo and Mirotic, even if they amnesty Boozer, unless Melo takes a really, really stiff paycut. But they could trade for Melo and send the Knicks a pick and Mirotic's rights? Maybe thatsj ust the knick fan in me wishing.

What's up with Crawford hexing Durant at the free throw line? The crook strikes again.

We can sign Carmelo for 19 mil per starting salary by amnestying Boozer and making a few other moves.
We can then use the MLE to sign Mirotic.
It still perplexes me as to why we didn't just deal Boozer to the Suns for Okafor's expiring salary when they asked for it.
I highly doubt they would trade Mirotic, they are really high on him.

Maybe I misunderstand it, but i dont think you can use the MLE if you start out below the cap and then sign a player (Melo in this case) that takes you above it. But im not sure how that rule works.

Regardless, ESPN recently wrote an article about what the Bulls should do next season and addressed this. I forget exactly what their conclusion was, but Melo and Mirotic couldn't both fit under.

This wasn't from the article I read, but i guess it applies:

4. With all this focus on Melo, what's the immediate future for the Bulls' European hot shot Nikola Mirotic?

Mirotic is under contract for two more seasons with Real Madrid and might have to spend one more abroad if the Bulls' Melo fantasies materialize.

Or if the offensively desperate Chicagoans make a fallback swoop for, say, longtime Bulls target Pau Gasol.

Given the sizable buyout required to free Mirotic from his Spanish obligations -- and with Chicago able to kick in only $600,000 toward that buyout that wouldn't count against the salary cap -- it's conceivable Chicago might even ask its talented frontcourt prospect to stay abroad for a fourth successive season since he was drafted.

It's hard to see how the Bulls could manufacture the needed financial flexibility to add a high-dollar free agent and Mirotic. The good news is 2011's No. 23 overall pick said earlier this month in an interview with Spain's Canal Plus that he's fine with playing one more season in Madrid, which he calls "home for me."

Something about whether they had a foul to give or something but the Grizz are tearing KD up when he drives to the lane the refs gotta call that crap but the Thunder can't keep shooting those long jump shots everytime down the court
