I think if he checks out Cleveland will take him. He looked fine here.
Bill Simmons of Grantland:
Embiid’s back is fine. I watched him work out last week.

Q: Wait … what? You watched Joel Embiid work out last week?

A: Yes — at a secret location in Santa Monica. He wasn’t playing against anyone, just going through a two-hour workout with Will Perdue. Here’s what I can tell you: He moves around as effortlessly as a 7-foot Serge Ibaka; he’s such an athletic freak that he’s one of those “still going up as he’s finishing the dunk” guys; his freakish wingspan might make Jay Bilas pass out; he has been playing basketball for only four years (which seems impossible); he gave up a world-class volleyball career; he has 3-point range; he can shoot jump-hooks with both hands already; he couldn’t have seemed more coachable/agreeable/likable; he’s a hard worker with a goofy sense of humor; his voice is just a touch Mutombo-y (deep with a heavy African accent); and his friends call him “Jo-Jo.” And again — his back seemed totally fine.

FYP, very good player, comes up in big games time and time again.

Underrated defender/rebounder.

The problem with OKC is more the roster than the coach.
You need to find a 3rd option not named Ibaka. You have 2 first round picks in this upcoming draft, you have to find a guy to compliment Durant and Westbrook.
I think Ibaka is that, but they need more than just RW/KD/Ibaka on offense, Jackson isnt bad but he's inconsistent.

Not sure who they can nab in the draft.

Now they cannot do that, they have to stay on their man and try to play them one on one which is not the Thunder's strength and ends up with them being lost on D and the Spurs getting those 3's. Most of those are wide open bunnies.
Pretty much this, wouldnt change everything but it's a layup drill right now with Ibaka out.

He carried that team at times during the Clippers series when Durant was playing like ****.
They have to draft, sign or trade for a legit 3rd option and make Ibaka the 4th guy. Perkins is a black hole on offense and needs to be phased out for Adams.
So you need to find a SG who can create his own offense and play in the starting lineup.
I think Ibaka can be the 3rd option but after him, and KD/RW it's questionable who can score.

They need shooters who can spread the floor.

Some good options in the draft though.

Parker/Wiggins are good prospects but i'm not sure either are Lebron/KD/Melo, or even Wade as prospects.

I like Embiid alot, fully understand the concerns with his back but he's oozing with potential.

I think this is the closest draft to the 03' since then. WIggins and Embiid both have super high ceilings, not quite LBJ imo but close and Parker might as well change his name to Carmelo because he plays just like him.

If Embiid is rumored to weight 265 now and is moving that good in the video, I think that is a easy pick to make.

Embiid has great potential but you always take the perimeter guy over the big.

Both could end up being very good players, but I wouldn't expect either one of them to turn out to be LeBron caliber.

I suppose its hard to say considering there's no real basis of comparison. We never saw LeBron's game in college, but obviously chances are neither of these guys comes close to his production.

I did like the idea Simmons floated about the Cavs future. Trade the #1, Bennett, and whoever to the Wolves for Love. Somehow get LeBron back to Cleveland and you're looking at this roster:

LeBron
Kyrie
Waiters
Love
Varejeo
Tristan Thompson
Jarrett Jack
The cocktail of old vets that would kill to play with the above.

Think you can contend with that? I think so. Doubt it ever happens, but interesting to talk about.

Charles Barkley is a frequent call in guest on a Philly sports talk radio station I listen to (and he's always absolutely terrific). He called in on Friday and said he thinks LeBron should go back to Cleveland, hopes that he will, and thinks it's a good possibility.

And yes, you can definitely contend with that team!

I just want to see the Spurs earn it. And hopefully it takes 7 games or lose in 7.

Trading for Iggy was worth it for the Nuggets to surrender their 2014 pick. They got a guy who couldn't shoot!
