Default Week 5 Practice / Injury Updates

Danny Trevathan returns, expected to start for Broncos vs. Cardinals

Trevathan practiced Monday and is expected to start at weakside linebacker against the Arizona Cardinals. Brandon Marshall played well in Trevathan's three-game absence. However, the Broncos' pieces fit better when Trevathan serves as a three-down anchor, freeing Marshall to work in nickel packages.

Offensive lineman Louis Vasquez (back), tight end Virgil Green (concussion) and safety Quinton Carter (unknown injury) returned to practice after sitting out last week. Linebacker Lerentee McCray remains limited with a sprained knee, and David Bruton, who was wearing a boot on his foot last week, did not practice

Agreed, they have won the last 2 weeks, but the dropoff is noticeable when you watch them.

Go ahead and throw an injured Carson on the field. He would struggle with that shoulder not 100.

I have no idea who their backup is, but he can't be slower than Palmer. This would be our first game against a non-mobile QB and I think our defense would destroy him.

The 2-0 Drew Stanton, and yes he is a statue as well!

Good news considering. Those injuries do not linger around the season. Groing injuries, hamstring injuries, pulled muscles are hard to deal with than these type of injuries listed here, with the exception of back injuries and concussions that have a few variables and degree of seriousness.

Trevathan being able to start is huge.
Vasquez made the best of the bye week. It looks like he needed that extra time off...

As long as it's not a high ankle sprain I can deal with somewhat lingering issues.

Any news on DT foot or is this just going to be a nagging injury all year?

They were just talking about this on TV. They said that DT has been targeted 27 times this season, and last year at this time he had been targeted 28 times. So he is being used just as much as last year, but this year he does have 5 drops so far. They said from watching him in practice, the bye week has really benefited him, giving him time to rest/heal. He looks much better supposedly

Compared to Palmer he is. He's picked up 3 1st downs in 3 games this year running. He's certainly not the type that we have faced so far this year, but Palmer is a statue. Stanton gives a little more in that dept. I've seen him scramble out of pressure while making good throws this year.

That said he's not gonna be a difference maker in this game. Their defense is.
