Woodyard and Harris shown themselves to be the most important players for the defense. Von and Champ gone and the D plays at a pretty good level. Woodyard and Harris go down and the D falls apart.

This is illogical. You've never seen the D without wood and Harris, but with Von and champ. Without all four of them we know the D is quite bad

Linebacker Wesley Woodyard (neck), defensive end Robert Ayers (left shoulder) and cornerback Chris Harris (concussion) all left Sunday’s game and were evaluated Monday. Cornerback Omar Bolden also left the game in the fourth quarter after suffering what appeared to be a shoulder injury. Broncos coach John Fox classified all of the injuries as “nothing serious.’’

For his part, Woodyard said he felt “good, I’m fine.’’ Ayers, who was wearing a heavy wrap on his shoulder, and Harris will likely miss some practice time. Harris now falls under the league’s concussion protocol, which at best means he could practice fully by Friday. Per the league’s protocol a player who feels “normal’’ one day after the game could pass cognitive testing on Tuesday and begin a light exercise program. They could do more Wednesday, participate in non-contact aspects of practice on Thursday and practice fully Friday.

And that’s only if Harris passes cognitive testing Tuesday.

Asked if “nothing serious’’ meant the players would practice this week, Fox said, “We’ll know that Wednesday.’’

BS! The Jaguars are an NFL team, and all it takes is a few funny bounces to have an avalanche start. We should NOT rest anyone until we are 40 points ahead and there is no way they have any shot of getting back in the game.

Remember, these other teams are PAID to play too. These are all professionals. And we saw what another Professional team did to the defense when we had our (pre-season) second string in yesterday. If the Broncos takes it EASY they will end up getting another embarrassment on D.
Not to mention that relaxing on the field leads to more injuries. Romo had a great day, and almost any NFL QB would have too. It was easy pickings against no pass rush and the depleted secondary we had.

Of course the Jaguars don't have Dallas's talent level, and we can game plan on how to adjust if some guys are out. But everyone that CAN play should.

I have no doubt that Peyton is not going to take it easy on their D. He will NOT let the O slow down or have a day of rest. Thankfully our best Defense is his fantastic offensive set.
Damn, thank you. A little overconfidence. I too think that the Broncos will win this game and probably easily but a team that comes out thinking it's a gimmee game, plays like that. I highly doubt Manning is thinking like that or would allow it to happen. It's generally a team like Jacksonville that shockingly beats the top team and for exactly these reasons.

Didnt a bad KC team beat Green Bay? Undefeated and overlooked that game IMO.

That Chiefs team wasn't nearly as bad as this Jaguars team. But yes, Denver shouldn't overlook Jacksonville or any team.

I would like to see Champ on the field even if only for 10 or 20 minutes of playing time. I just think it wouldn't hurt to knock the rust off (assuming he has any at all). With Joeckel out for Jax, I just don't see them doing much against our D. Let alone keeping any kind of pace with our offense.

I could have been more clear in my post, but when I say let them rest, I mean let the key injured defensive players rest.

Not true. Look at the 2nd half of the Dallas game. Granted Dallas was doing pretty well in the 1st half, but at least there was some semblance of a Defense at times. Harris and Woodyard go out and Romo explodes and has the biggest game in Dallas history.

Any bronco fan old enough to remember Corey Dillon's historic performance in 2000 with the bungles wants a healthy squad vs jax. I want a 60-0 shutout with Brock all second half and no injuries please.

Yes but their absense compounds an already existing problem. Von and champ still aren't playing, thus making it even worse. You can't say one set is more valuable than another based on this evidence.

"The Broncos arrived back in Colorado late Sunday night after their 51-48 victory in Dallas with plenty of work for head trainer Steve Antonopulos and his staff.

And Monday they were still hoping for the best.

Harris can't practice anyway according to the league concussion protocols until Friday I think.

Champ fully practicing?
