![]() The general sentiment that I have encountered on most boards seems to be that Decker is going to want more money for being the number 2 receiver than the Broncos are going to want to pay. Fair enough, but even acknowledging that he will not be worth his demands, he still represents a solid number two option that can create mismatch opportunities when the Defense doubles one of the Thomas's. He is also big body that excels at down field blocking. Once again, not claiming that he will be worth his demands, just pointing out that replacing his production will not be trivial.
So, in that vein, where do we go to replace Decker next year? Is there a particular pending free agent we can target? Is there a good player on a bad team that would be willing to listen to offers? Or is there a promising stud in the first few rounds of the draft that we should be looking at. I'm curious as to what names we could realistically look at plugging into this line-up in 2014 and see a minimum drop-off from the number 2 WR position. |

![]() I think we've got three pretty good candidates on the PS/IR right now:
1) Greg Orton 2) Gerell Robinson 3) Tavarres King Or we could use a 2nd or 3rd rounder to pick up a promising candidate in the 2014 draft. I like Decker, but no need to overpay when viable replacements are so cheap. Last edited by BowlenBall; 10-08-2013 at 04:19 AM.. |

![]() I'm sorry , but 5 weeks into what could end up being a unreal run to be worried about this now is lame ... And I still haven't seen anything newsworthy say it might happen besides people here.

![]() Given the way he's playing this year, I think that having P. Manning in 2015 and 2016 is a possibility as well.
Which is why we shouldn't sell the farm for Eric Decker (again, I like him, but only at the right price). I'd say somewhere between $2 million and $3 million per year is just about right. Don't forget that we've gotta pay Demaryius soon as well, and that's gonna cost major $$$$$$. |

This is a problem that good teams face. Their young talented players develop into Veteran Stars who command higher salaries. The really good teams figure out which ones to keep and which ones they have to let go. |

![]() I love Decker. I think he's a good player most of the time. But his brain farts from time to time absolutely KILL me. Hold on to the ****ing ball, dude, and don't trip over the 30 yard line when you have a touchdown in your sights.
As for re-signing him, IMO he's the lowest priority of the major UFAs. |

Oh wait Decker. Decker, Mr. B and Mr. E will decide if he should be a Bronco. |

![]() I would like to believe that. But, I've seen this story too many times. A talented number 2 receiver puts up huge numbers in an offense specifically designed to maximize his contributions as a number 2 receiver and convinces 3 or 4 teams that he is actually a bona fide number one option. Someone will throw Larry Fitzgerald level money at him, and if looks to the Broncos to match, I'm hoping the front office has the guts to let him walk.

![]() Right now I don't ****ing care. I just want a Super Bowl, then undefeated, and the offensive and PFM records. When offseason comes I will not be upset when he leaves. His on field brain farts, foo foo ness and jewelry commercials annoy the **** out of me.

![]() I firmly believe Decker will jump out of here like Anquan Boldin. However, let's not become the Patriots and think the guy on the PS or a draft pick will be able to come in and immediately perform. That worked for them for a bit and they are a shadow of the team they used to be.
