Default The woman who died today in DC.......

So I have been thinking about the woman who died or was killed in DC today. Haven't heard a lot of details like all of you.

What I did see was politicians applauding both republicans and democrats praising the police for "protecting them"?

Was the woman really out to get them? Was she protesting the shut down? Perhaps she was angry about her financial situation? Or did she just have a mental issue? What happened to the child? During one of the police interviews the Chief police officer did say "It was not a terrorist act". The reporter quickly fired back "How can you say that so soon". He then basically discounted what he originally said and left it at that.

Anyone else have any thoughts? Do we care?

Initial reports are she had mental issues. I don't think they have the whole story yet.

Reports saying her name is Miriam Carey. A 34 year-old dental hygienist from Stamford, CT.

Speculation of post-partum depression, though it's tough to tell if that is just more media propaganda. 18-month old not hurt in chase.

Edit: Pretty lady, but was angry. Drove an Infiniti. Got let go from her job in 2011 for refusing to stop parking in the handicap spot among other things.

Apparently was sick of the bullsh*t, but looks like she brought it on herself.

Looks a lot like suicide by cop. She was already being pursued before she got anywhere near the barricades, and looks like she attempted to get past the barricades to avoid capture.

The capital police ****ed up and let the situation get out of control by not pinning her vehicle against the barricades before attempting to get her out of the car.

She most certainly didn't just innocently make a wrong turn and accidentally bump into the barricades.

She was driving that car like she was playing Grand Theft Auto. That traffic circle maneuver where she pulled a Griswold was impressive because she was driving at a good clip.

Sad to see a person spiral like that.

She thought Obama was stalking her.

Not really that much different from the Tea Party.

Thanks for the updates. Seems like hitting the barricades was more of circumstance than someone actually trying to plow in the White House like the early reports might have suggested.

Very fortunate that the little girl didn't get hit with all those bullets flying. They didn't even know there was an 18 month in the car until after the situation.

In the police's defense she did try to ram them from the video. Didn't seem lime mom was too concerned about her child.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happens when you get in a high-speed chase and try to ram cops.

Apparently nothing can ever just happen anymore. Someone can't just be clinically depressed and snap, they must've been a product of an experimental government project. Two people can't bomb a public event because they felt disjointed from and marginalized by a society they don't understand, the government must have been behind it.

I can't decide if it's sickening or saddening that people have to make up answers to unfortunate stories like this. Probably both.

Agreed she was just mentally sick.............thats it.

As far as the cops know the car could have had explosives in it.

I don't blame them.

Probably the worst possible situation to ever put a sick person suffering from schizophrenia in, there will be lots of blame and second guessing the entire cluster-****.

The sad truth is she was a completely out of control of her mind and body she was scared to death with all the guns aimed at her.

Cluster ****, completely out of control of her mind, lots of blame.....

Funny you just described what is going on in the capital as well as this poor woman.

Only difference is the government doesn't have guns pointed at them nor do they really have to face all the millions of angry Americans out there as they are protected by walls and police with guns.

Right, they don't care and all the government workers on furlough are going to get all their back pay and benefits but they want us to all feel sorry for them. It's not a government shutdown but government on hold with back pay coming.

As usual the people that will get the shaft are the private citizens, the guy that has a sandwich shop across the street or the guy that works on the luxury limos that congress uses. Will they get and reimbursement for their lost pay ......... hell no?

Yep, and with the increasing level of militarization in police forces - lethal action is often becoming the norm. It's like despotism is being present in full display.
