So even if Vonn is clean he could be under a lot of stress to not smoke, and feeling the effects of having to be straight all the time. I can't imagine not being able to smoke a joint after a gig if i want to. It's stupid to even have weed on a list of drugs an athlete can't use. If he doesn't get a ton of sacks, I'm calling it! Give Popeye his friggin spinach.

Nope. There's a number of legal drugs that are on the banned substances list.

Because they have performance enhancing factors. Does weed? Or is that more like having a beer after the game?

What drugs that are not illegal are banned that don't enhance performance? Nicotine, alcohol, seem to have more in common with legal weed then say ephedirine which we know to inflate energy.

You'll get no argument from me on this, but it would take every state legalizing it before they'd consider removing it. That's probably at least thirty years away, if ever.

I know Ephedrine has been on and off the market in terms of legality. It's illegal in the NFL.

not really what the study was saying. You are speaking more of how hard a habit is to kick. This is more saying even if you have will power to quit smokin, the lack of weed causes impairment. It could mean hes a better football player being able to smoke some weed after playing. Greg Townsend, a great Raider Dend talked a lot about how much weed helped him play football lol. I know it sounds crazy but unless you are a weed smoker you wouldn't understand.

I worry Vonn will miss weed so much that he won't play as well.
I don't smoke weed anymore really, but I've smoked enough of it in my life to know that's a really stupid idea.

Dude this is so true! There was this one time a buddy and I were at this huge house party baked out of our minds, I was starving, and I said "hey man I'm hungry". Little did I know he raided this dudes cabinate and found some Ritz crackers. I had this chick passed out on my lap, so I wasn't looking at him when I said that I was hungry, but he threw the cracker at me thinking otherwise. Somehow out of the corner of my eye I saw it at the last second and snatched it out of the air like a freaking Ninga. Then I ate the cracker.

Truthfully the measured amounts of dopamine released by the activation of THC receptors creates the neurological feeling of being wakeful yet asleep. Thus, the stigma that most pot heads are lazy and scatter brained. It does however activate a bi-lobal response from the brain, meaning creativity is heightened. The idea that a football player would be unable to play at a high level without the use of marijuana is really stupid though, and the fact that a former Oakland Raider was your primary example should have alerted you to the failed logic of such an argument. Then again you were probably high when you wrote this, so we will just put on the kid gloves, and respond with a resounding Duuuuddddeee.

The current Donks are beatable. Not by many but that defense is pretty stank right now.

With Champ and most importantly your best pass rusher back it makes a world of difference.

When you face a top 5 pass rusher you game plan for that. You know you can't hold the ball forever. You don't call 5 plays a drive with two routes 20+ yards deep.

Changes the whole ball game before a single snap...

I'm curious as to everyone's honest opinion on where the Broncos might go from here w/Von.

We all know next yr is his last under contract, so what's the move from Elway & Co. moving forward? Personally, I say you give him that big deal that he was headed for before any of this came to light. You just don't let someone w/his talents & youth walk away.

But, it's not my money...

So what's the popular opinion? (Not so much on what you WANT the Broncos to do, but what you think they might do w/everything we know).

Do they start fielding offers?
Do they let him play out next yr, virtually assuring he walks away in '15?
Do they take the gamble that his mistakes are behind him and pay him?

Again, I want Von to remain in Orange & Blue. I'm just curious what the feeling on the OM is as to what the Broncos might do. (Lord knows this team isn't afraid to make noise in the offseason)

I think they pay him market value with conditions up the ass on the contract.

Trading Von would be really dumb
We would not get close to what he is worth right now

We are going to keep him
And if he stays clean from here on out we will give him a huge contract

If he gets suspended again that is where it gets dicey
I would imagine we would still hold on to him but he might play out his contract and then hit FA if that happens

I would expect they get a deal done. Would think they would want some kind of protections in place, in case he gets suspended again. He is probably the piece that the rest of the defense is going to be built around, but they can't make such a huge financial commitment in him, if he's not all in. Needs to be someone they can count on to be here
