I knew having a good defensive coordinator two years in a row was too good to be true.

JDR Doesn't own a SB ring as either a player or coach. No way he leaves before the season is over.

Its too early to tell whats really going on yet. If USC appoints an interim coach and waits we could be at risk of losing JDR. If they go out and get someone right away I think we will be ok. JDR would be a beast at recruiting at USC and that is 60% of the collage game IMO so it would be a great hire. Lets just hope JDR really likes it here and wants to take over for Fox in a few years. Wishful thinking surely but my fingers are crossed.

Exactly. Fox is too classy to stop someone, but JDR is too classy to walk away before his job is done.

I'd be surprised if JDR doesn't take it. West coast...2.5 million....really?

People need to stop romanticizing football...."oh but he really wants a ring".

He would be guaranteed blue chip prospects every year. Yeah, he is gone, unless he just has his heart set on the NFL but I don't know why he would.

He's from Cali and he went to school at USC. Was nice having you around JDR. Hopefully someone under him is learning for when he bails at the end of the season.

USC is USC recruiting wise. One of the few schools that can jump on kids late and steal away the 4 and 5 stars. SC finishes out the season with an Interim, recruits with the idea of JDR being HC and officially hires JDR in February.

IMO, JDR has been a DC and HC in the NFL. He's honestly probably seeking an NFL HC job again and I don't think for a second he wants to go backwards to the college game, even if it is USC. I think he'll be our DC for another 2 years to be honest. Then I think after we win 2 superbowls and this defense is top 5 3 years in a row he'll get another look at a HC job in the NFL. Remember, he was a HC for years in Jacksonville and they had high picks every year and the defense got better there for awhile under him but then the team fell apart and he was gone. It will be about a 4 or 5 year span as a DC before he gets another chance at HC in the NFL and as I said, he's an NFL guy, I don't think he wants any part of the college game to be honest.

NFL coaches dont go backwards in the career if there is still a possibility of going forward dip****.

JDR is an NFL coach which great upside to continue to be an NFL coach. He will not go to the college ranks unless he feels his NFL chances of HC are over for good.

Being the head coach at USC is way better than being the head coach of utterly terrible pro teams. You're crazy to think otherwise.

Being the head coach of USC ends one's hopes of being a head coach in the NFL?

You must love USC or something. Being a HC at USC is not better then any head coaching gig in the NFL.

The NFL is the highest level of football we have. Bad teams can be turned around. It happens. Stop blowing USC sunshine up your rear.
