For some reason Im unable quote posts. But specifically to Khan:

If JDR waits until Jan or Feb to leave, he would have a significant recruiting disadvantage on an already shiatty squad.

Not to mention, USC has some money to throw around. They may not be Harvard, but they can usually get what they want.

I would be shocked if anyone offered Gase a HC job.

Yeah Gase isn't leaving - at least not next season. He is a very good coach and very talented, but he's too green to be a head coach.

He wouldn't have a ****ty squad. That's why Kiffen was fired, they blow and they're absolutely loaded.

Just got confirmation from a highly-placed Broncos source. Jack Del Rio is staying put for the entire Broncos season.

Except that he would be coaching at USC and all the recruiters would need to say is "do you want to play at USC?" and they would say yes. Lane Kiffin recruited very well and he sucks as a coach and a person.

I would be very surprised to see Del Rio leave before the end of this season. Plus for teams, pro or college, hiring a coach outside the team during the season rarely happens, much less is rarely successful. He would inherit assistant coaches he may not want and has to wait to get his staff together after the season anyway. They would hire him before the end of the NFL season, but he likely finishes the season with the Broncos.

I think JDR respects Fox, Manning too much to do that, especially if he wants to head back to the league again. He'll stay and finish this season.

If Del Rio took USC job why would he have to quit the broncos this year? He can wait til the season is over and USC could use an intern for the rest of the year.

Let's put it this way, when Lane Kiffin took over, they were the number one ranked team in the country. Pretty easy to see what Kiffin brought to the table. Pat Haden should have known better.

A revolving door at a coordinator position means two things...they're either very good or suck Fido's ass. I know as a Broncos fan it gets frustrating to watch coordinators come and go...but the coordinator's position is where you go to advance your career....few want it to be their terminal position in the NFL. I wouldn't like it if Del Rio were to leave either....but it's his life not mine.

Del Rio has this defense playing very well....and while he's a big part of their current success, he's not taking the players with him if he were to leave. Some on here sound a lot like the doom and gloom gang who wrung their hands over Alex Gibbs leaving years ago talking about how Dennison would suck balls, etc.....and the Broncos offense still ran the ball regardless.

If he left tomorrow, we'd still have Knighton, Vickerson, Woodyard, Trevathan, DRC, Harris, Champ, Webster, Moore, and Von....and the coaching he's given them will make the transition to whomever the Broncos get to replace him a smooth one in my opinion.

Oh, and one more thing...Elway's been pretty good at finding us some very good players and coaches. I'd wait and see how those chips fall before I'd start the doom and gloom talk.

John Baxter is the associate head coach. He could finish out the season and probably do a better job at it than Kiffin did.

I also couldn't imagine a coach leaving mid-season on a SB contending team that is manned by Peyton f'ing Manning on a team that John Elway has been building for 2+ years towards a SB. Talk about an ultimate fail that would be and the ultimate bridge burning in the NFL. Middle finger to a SB, HOF GM, HOF QB.

The guy may not ever find a job after USC by doing that.

Gase earned the respect of Manning last season as his quarterbacks coach, after a bit of what some team sources described a feeling-out process. By the time former Broncos coordinator Mike McCoy left to become head coach in San Diego, Manning strongly endorsed Gase for a promotion, and that came together quickly. This season Denver's offense is on an even better pace, and Gase may be on a rise similar to what young coordinator Josh McDaniels experienced working with Tom Brady in New England"

Never underestimate the panic of a bad team to miss out on the hot new thing.

Make JDR the highest paid DC, Elway.

Gase should be here for at least another year. It would not be wise of him to leave after one season as OC...as long as he has Manning at QB, he will be able to stay hot on the market. He might as well stay until Manning is done.

McDaniels was a QB coach for 5 years and OC for 3 years before he got a HC gig...and everyone saw what happened here.

Gase doesn't have enough experience right now to be a HC, and honestly, any NFL team would be very desperate to look at him as a serious HC candidate. As someone said, he still seems very green.

Look at all the successful coaches...they're were all well seasoned and oiled before they really had success as a HC. McDaniels knows this now. Only outlier situation was Mike Tomlin, but he had a unique situation with Steelers.

As an NFL organization...you'd want to see what Gase could do without Manning before appointing him as an HC. You need a leader there, not just a play caller.
