So, what D do we run out there tomorrow? Won't be able to sub much against the Eagles.

I would put the big nickle on the field, but I imagine JDR will keep the same look from last week with more press man on the outside.

The Broncos defense in '76-'78 was nasty......this one is pretty good.

There are plenty of negative threads out there, however this one would be full on homer to suggest this is an elite or nasty defense at this point IMHO.
Agreed, i think the offense covers up a bit for them. I do love the play from vick and knighton though. Very stout in the middle. It's still early hopefully we can round out by the end of the season. i didnt get to see much preseason, how did Q. Smith look? Is a edge rusher our biggest need?

It's a long season and we'll need Champ's services before too long. Guys get dinged up and that's why depth is so important. We've been fortunate enough to be playing so well Champ could rest and heal. I don't see any need at this point to rush him back. Play on the side of caution and give him MORE then enough time to reach 100%. Getting Miller back is going to have a larger impact on this team. But getting Champ in there will be the icing on the cake. When we go to nickle, you'll have Champ, DRC and Harris........WOW.

You expect the Eagles to run a successful no huddle offense in Denver tomorrow?

lol, it doesn't matter what I expect. But the team isn't going to go into the game without a plan, assuming the other team isn't going to be "successful". I was looking for opinions on what people think that plan might be. Do we go out there just like we would any other opponent or do we go with a different than "normal" package based on the type of offense the Eagles are expected to run.

The Eagles will destroy themselves if they try to play that uptempo Chip Kelly offense. they lack the defense to stop Denver's offense. they will try to slow the game down and keep Peyton on the sidelines.

i think because of that game plan the Defense we play out of mostly will remain what it was against Oakland. stopping McCoy and Vick on the ground is the game plan. If Vick has to throw for the Eagles to compete, the game is over.

Unless DeSean makes big plays and they get a bunch of long TD's kinda like what Balt did to us in the playoffs. If we shut down DeSean and the running game, we should win barring turnovers.

The Eagles don't have the OL necessary to hold a pass rush back long enough for those big plays to develop. Flacco in January had as much time as he wanted for those long plays to develop. Also outside of Jackson the Eagles don't have a lot in the receiving corps unless it is McCoy underneath.Baltimore had options to spread the field.

I love this defense and believe that it has significant potential, however, what we are seeing right now is excellent complimentary football. In my book, MVP #1 is definitely Manning, followed closely by JDR. Its hard to even think of how much he has changed the play and expectations of this franchise.

I do love the fact that we have the personnel to completely "shut down" facets of any opponent's game plan. The question is, can we "shut down" enough facets for the truly gifted teams? If we face a healthy Patriots team (with Gronk and Amendola in New England), I will be truly impressed. That will be my benchmark for "superbowl nasty."

The good news is that with this offense, we don't have to shut opponents completely down, just slow them down enough for Manning to do his thing. In my book, the strength of our defense still might rest in the hands of Chris Clark. Keep Manning upright, and our defense keep ripping it up.

Eagles actually have a decent O-line on paper, although the Chiefs pass rush gave them some problems.

The majority of the Eagles plays aren't big seven stop drops. They're run plays and read options plays.

The defense is solid but as mentioned multiple times despite Rev arguing with stats the DL is NOT CONSISTENTLY winning individual matchups. Denver just hasn't been exploited by a good qb yet. Every game there is more gamefilm for opposing coaches to study. Every week that goes by the importance of winning one on one matchups will be a major point.

Careful, you'll get Rev mad and he'll start calling you names! Hope he shows up and gives us some "context" to explain the Eagles 13 first downs and 271 yards in the first half! Oh, that's right, first half yards don't matter...

I see a very bad defensive gameplan more than anything today. Complete failure to account for staples of this offense. I don't understand it.

2.5 of the 3 sacks by the DL and that's in a game where they had to play pocket contain as priority one over rushing the passer on pass downs.

Again, this is another week and another example of you saying that, and another week and another example of it not meshing with reality

This defense stopped a potential track meet in the blocks. I think they did well.
