The Wild still got a far better run than they deserved, but at least the franchise can settle back to its proper place... the greatest glory they will ever see is being the benefactors of another team's choke job.

Hearing both Shero and Bylsma will be fired. Ray is a good GM but he put his own neck on the line last summer when he persuaded ownership to extend Bylsma when they wanted to fire him.....now he has to pay a price for it.

Heard a rumor that Malkin could go to the Sharks.

Pavelski, Hertl and a 1st for Geno.

So Cal called it. So glad they lost not because I like NY (I hate all teams NY) but now SoCal can't keep remaking the line in the sand.

That being said, time to put the Kings down and finish in LA.

If the Pens clean house like rumored I wonder if they go after Trotz as coach.

Awful trade.

They need to move Scuderi and Dupuis.

If they won this series, we would just hear "Well, they are going to get smacked by Boston (Montreal)"

You weren't going to be excited until the Pens loss a series.

Well....I did think they would get beat down by Boston and would probably lose to Montreal too but it would be close. I have been b****ing about this team since before the trade deadline. I picked the Rags in 6. They outlasted it by 1 game.

We're declining a bit for now, I won't deny it, but I still have faith. Holland is arguably the best GM in sports. 4 cups and the playoffs every year since he's been GM. We'll be good as long as he's around. I still love Babcock too. He seems to be leaving his options open when it comes to other coaching jobs but I don't think its imminent that he's leaving.

Oh, and what's the streak now? 23 years straight in the playoffs? Damn impressive
You should investigate Holland's team's performances without Lidstrom...

On top of that, this team isnt built for the east and you've locked up a very average goalie for big money to a long term deal. I think the past 2 years foreshadow nicely what is going to happen in the near term, a team that is middle of the pack fighting it out to make the playoffs each year until the waning weeks/days of the regular season. For some teams, that isnt bad but its not going to fly long for the wings. If true, the question will be how long will Holland be retained.

It was particularly sweet to see Kane beat Cooke to that spot for the series winner.

I was coming here to post this. Nice to see Cooke come back to watch his team go home particularly while he was defending. And where is that moldy-turd Vikings fan? He'll have to lament his team wasn't able to injure any more players to fraud their way to a title. The Wild can eat my taint.

I don't disagree with you. Never been a fan of Howard. I still have hope Holland will get things turned around eventually but he's gonna have to shake things up a bit and make some changes, and I have my doubts he can do it. He's too set in his ways. Could be a bad situation if he can't. He's been such a huge part of the Wings and their success it will be tough getting rid of him. His contract runs through next year I believe. Even if the Wings tank next year I can't see us getting rid of him for another few years. He deserves that much IMHO. Kinda reminds me of the Shanahan situation in some ways.

I still believe in the guy. Without Holland the story over the past 17 years would be very different.

I believe the NHLPA would put object to anything like a lifetime ban or extremely lengthy suspensions. If I was a member of that union I would be wondering why the hell they are more interested in protecting and keeping a guy on the ice who is has ended another player's career and routinely inflicts serious injuries through malicious conduct than protecting other player's careers from being ruined by that guy.

That was simply divine justice right there. I hope the Avs get the Wild again in the playoffs next year and run them out of the damn arena.
