There's pretty much only one potential series that has a decent chance of ending in 5. Everything else should be 6 or 7.

Honestly, I don't see how someone can predict sweeps at this point. A lot of strange stuff has to happen for sweeps to occur between two good teams.

He is a top pairing guy. He is a very good defender and solid on offense.
This season is the first in which he has had a legitimate partner paired with him.
His defensive play this season was very very good and he will only get better.

Interesting tidbits from NHL.com

Individually, the Kings have an impressive track record in Game 7. Richards, Marian Gaborik and Justin Williams are 4-0, Willie Mitchell is 3-0, and Carter is 2-0. Goalie Jonathan Quick beat San Jose in Game 7 of the conference semifinals last season. Four of Quick's eight career shutouts in the Stanley Cup Playoffs are against San Jose, and he has allowed one goal three times against the Sharks.

One night.....three game 7s.....tomorrow's going to be a tough day at the office.

This is one of those times I'm jealous of the folks in the western and mountain time zones.

That should be only one of a thousand reasons to be jealous of us. How was your winter?

Still living it actually. We've been stuck in a zone of 40-45 degree highs for a little while now. I don't even think Boston has hit 70 this month. No Spring for us this year.

To be honest, though, I really didn't mind this winter. I enjoy the cold and breaking out the winter gear. Hell, my wife and I go dog sledding in Northern Maine in the middle of freaking January. I'm useless in the heat and really only tolerate anything over 80 when I'm on vacation or near a pool/lake.

We call 80 degrees "Spring". I guess you get used to your surroundings but I know more move from cold winters to mild winters than the other way around. I think this will happen this year as those folks around you will say, "**** this!" and decide wearing 4 layers of clothes isn't worth it. I expect Flyers, Bruins and most East Coast team fans to be invading places like California very soon.

I don't think he is playing as well in this series as he did the regular season. His offensive play has been average at best. Has turned the puck over quite a bit in this series as well. Don't know if it's the pressure of being in the playoffs or what?

Our entire team has been that way. We have been timid and unsure with the puck. Even more so after Barrie got mugged.
His play has been as good as the regular season, his offense has not been due to the way Minny started playing us.
He has a big shot and can let it rip but look at the way the Wild block the shooting lane and force a pass or it bounces off one of them.

Hell Johnson is one of the main reasons we are not eliminated now. He has made at least 2 sick game saving plays in this series. One of which was racing back to get the puck before it went into the empty net.

Which is also why I said and will continue to say that Varly has carried us all series long.

See this is the stuff that drives me nuts. Why do you move the puck back into our own zone when you had it at center ice?
