Stay out of the 7 seed, please. That's reserved for Columbus.

Yes, almost every game. They are great. I just think the playoffs are a different animal and Chicago has been there done that. So I think we were up against it to begin with and this just makes it worse.

It's frustrating, we deserved a better draw than we got but the new format did not help us. Considering we are the 5th or 6th best team in the whole league as far as points go we should have been a favorite in round 1. Not an underdog against the defending champions.

Tough break for Colorado. On the plus side for you guys, Chicago is pretty beat up too.

I guess we will agree to disagree.

The team I've been watching all season is not going to lay down in the 1st round just because Duchene is out. Not only that, but Chicago has not put up much of a fight against Colorado all season and I don't think they're going to magically figure it out and dominate in the playoffs. They have looked average at best the past month.

I don't think we will lay down. I think we will bust our ass and put up a great fight. I just think when it comes down to it we are a young team with almost no playoff experience and they are the defending cup champions. So my fear is we go back to Chicago 1-1, come back home down 3-1, and either lose in 5 or force a game 6 and lose. I really hope I'm wrong..like I said it's not as much me saying we aren't good. We are. I just think it is an awful matchup

We're 4-1 against them this season. If Kane and Toews aren't 100% we have a decent chance. They don't look as good this year as they did last. Not sure if they're waiting to turn it up for the playoffs??

I do not fear Chicago, St Louis worries me. But the Avs D is leaky and streaky so in a 7 game series we are sure to incur problems.

Nice to see Sid hit 100 on the year, when no one else is even at 90.

Winning the Art Ross, Hart and also likely the Lindsay this season is a nice first step to getting his trophy case to begin to reflect reality of ability. I hope he can keep himself together for a few more complete seasons so he can sweep the awards a couple more times.

I'm not even mad about the fact that this team is a dumpster fire. I've been saying it since the trade deadline. When they lose to Detroit in Round 1, hopefully it will force Shero to get rid of his boyfriend. Moron had to pause a good 8 seconds tonight before coming up with an answer as to why they've looked like **** since the break. If they don't get Columbus, they won't escape the first round. Just get Sid his 3 awards and I'm good for this year. They need to get a real ****ing coach and bring up some of those stud D men next season. Orpik needs to retire and Scuderi needs to get bought out. Sid needs to order Shero to get the firing done. Enough is enough.

Avs pull one out of nowhere last night! Now up 102 to 99 in pts over CHI.

Down 2-0 into the 3rd period.

Two goals in the final 10 minutes, 1 in OT.

2 out of 3 goals go off Columbus players into the net.

As of now, no. Anderson was doing very well before we traded Fasth. I believe he was the top or one of the top rookies so we knew what we had when making that trade. Ducks seem to always have good depth at goaltender...too much depth and can trade away for players or picks. Kind of like Broncos trading running backs in the 90s/2000s.

Andersen is very hot right now and they are going with the streak. Just wish Ducks would play a full 60 minutes of hockey. Winning in the last 24 minutes down 4 goals on Monday (franchise record of 4 goal deficit to win) and then down 2-0 in 3rd to win in regulation 3-2.

BTW Gyldenlove, weren't you the one that would bag on Hiller and how Ducks would be in trouble with their goaltending?

I bagged on Fasth and said if Hiller got another attack of vertigo the Ducks would be ****ed.

Gutted to see Cody McCleod go down last night. It looked really bad. Knee was bent the wrong way and he couldn't put any weight on his leg as he skated off. That may be one the Avs can't overcome. He's a leader, and their toughest player.

The good news is, this team just keeps pulling wins out of their collective asses lol

Varlomov was on another planet in the shootout.

I can't believe right after Duchene goes down we lose McCleod. We're still winning but 4 of the 5 wins have been won in OT or shoot outs. Thank goodness for Tyson Barrie. And it shows you a good goalie hides a lot of stink - at least in the regular season.

from the DPO...

- Roy said Cody McLeod has a left ankle injury, but that he may only be out day-to-day. We’ll see what the x-rays reveal, but if that ankle isn’t broken, you can count on The Highlander playing again soon. He’s as tough as they come, someone who just ignores pain.

Ankle makes sense. He couldn't put any weight on it at all. Hope he can come back!
