Fox gave Hillman a lot of carries last year considering he was a rookie but he didn't start him. I think anyone but Ball will start until midseason and he proves he can do everything he needs to.

Hillman protected the ball well last year, I think last night was just one of those nights where you wish it was a Madden game and could reboot. If he fumbles again the rest of the PS and into the RS THEN we have an issue.

I really though Hillman did well and if he had that TD we all would be talking him up more. That Fumble/TD drive was him making a guy in the backfield miss, side stepping then gaining 4-6 yards. I don't think they want more than that out of this run game other wise we would have a legit FB and be running out of I or Offset I's more.
I got drunk so I guess I don't remember.

Ball showed some stuff they need to give him more carries with Manning next week.

Picked the guy that will still be in the NFL in about 2 weeks.

And? The guy also went 1-4 before getting to watch the guy who won't be in the NFL in 2 weeks lead his team to a playoff win. In the end we should all be glad neither is the starting QB of the Broncos anymore. I don't call out the Orton supporters every time I disagree with them about something. That's the kind of thing weak-minded trolls do when they don't have any kind of real counter-argument.

They may, but I still think they saw exactly what they wanted to see in his limited duty to give him a rest. No reason to risk him to injury in a losing meaningless PS game.

In other words, I think his limited carries in this game are a positive.

There is no doubt we are all glad both are gone (minus a few like Beavis).

Any of the Tebowites, or former in your case, should expect servings of crow for a little while longer though once the season starts and he isnt in the NFL, things will begin to wind down.

To your credit, you have manned up about it. But dont be so quick with the false equivalencies.

Based on how little he's carried in the preseason this may well be the case. Now that I think of it, they may be thinking about minimizing his load in preseason to lessen the impact of the rookie wall later in the year. It kind of makes sense now that I think about it. It's still annoying though, though not nearly as annoying as watching people write the guy off based on 11 carries in the preseason (where he hasn't even looked bad).

I'm just failing to figure out what the **** it has to do with the Montee Ball discussion to be honest.

Cecil Lammey, who has been to nearly every TC practice, said before the game that he saw something in Ball in the last week of camp that he hadn't seen in the weeks prior.

He said he saw a confidence in him that just wasn't there before. If he saw it, then surely the coaching staff did also. The 6 carries were just confirmation of what they saw in practice, and I think they just thought they didn't need more to be convinced.

Whether they increase his work-load in PS remains to be seen. However, I am convinced more than ever that Ball will be the starting back sometime soon. How soon is the only question.

Oh hell, Seattle did this to us last year in preseason, Manning throwing 2 picks, and everyone panicked. Our O essentially looked pretty good, seems Seattle's D, which is very good, were doing what they were supposed to and our backups aren't as good as theirs.

It seemed to me that the Seahawks treated this like a real game. I think they installed a game plan where we absolutely did not. Add in two freak touchdowns and you get what we got. I am not saying people should feel comfortable about it, but it was good that we had a game like this in pre-season. The Cowboys did the same thing in Shanahan's last seasons.

I also though these refs were terrible toward each team. Like worse than Jeff Triplette terrible.

Such a long season ahead. Nobody will be talking about this game after 4 games into the season. Lucky, the guys who were injured are not out for the season.

Preseason is preseason....meaningless beyond knocking off some rust and looking to see if the rooks and UDFA can hold up in the league.

True, but right now we're looking at going into the Ravens rematch missing some combination of Miller, Bailey, Wolfe, DRC, Welker, god knows who else, and a beat up O-line. Far from ideal, and lose that game and the drama you see now will be dwarfed.

And if the Broncos win versus Baltimore this preseason game will be forgotten. Von aside, injuries happen. What can you do? Next man up.

Opening game is big because it will have playoff ramifications(AFC opponent). I think the Broncos will be fine.

I pretty much agree with this. Carol probably wanted to make some kind of statement at home against the Broncos. We were pretty vanilla most of the day. This Saturday will give us a better feel for what this team can when it game plans. And this Rams team is going to be better this year.

I re-watched the game and I think we did a lot of good things. We had some long drives where we kept the other team off the field. The protection was good. They didn't have their pass rushers, but we didn't have Clady. I thought the running backs were decisive and hit their holes hard. I thought the passing game looked good. The defense had some bright spots. They tackle well and play strong at the point of attack. Wesley Woodyard played very well. Basically special teams and turnovers hid a lot of good stuff.

The "Orton supporters" didn't really exist. Perhaps that's why you don't call them out. And even if they did exist (not really), they weren't nearly as vocally retarded with the absurd "Elway is just jealous/he's worried about his records/let's hope he gets killed in a fire/Fox and McCoy too" bull****.
