I agree, Put a cheap statue up (didn't someone do one of him already) in a fan area but he doesn't belong on the ROF. There are players that deserve to be up there that aren't.

I was lucky to meet Tim a couple times he was a nice guy but Fans don't belong up there.

Plus next thing you know they will put up creepy Leprechaun guy up there.

No Thanks! Put one of his barrels in the fan shop or something.

Plus Tim is in the Football HOF, that should be enough.

It seems nearly unanimous that he shouldn't be in the RoF, but should be honored elsewhere.

Well what would they do? Would they put "Tim McKernan" up in the ring of fame? No one would know who that is and probably assume he's some player from the sixites. If the put the words "Barrel Man" up it would look really stupid. John Elway...Shannon Sharpe....Terrell Davis....Barrel Man...

Whatever name they might use the thought of his name being up there with those three amazing players is laughable.

Absolutely Not!

I will sign a petition to keep him out of the ring though.

Maybe we can engrave his name on the ring around his barrel, so he can be on his own ring of fame.

Tim's wife Becky is all for this, that was good enough for me to sign the petition.

I'm sure she's not looking at this objectively. Of course she is going to want to have the highest honors bestowed on her late husband. Any loving wife would want that...

Yep,

It is more about setting a precedent. If you let Tim in where do you stop.

The ring of Fame is "to honor former players and administrators who played significant roles in the franchise's history." It says nothing about fans.

I would gladly sign a petition that establishes a separate Fan ring of fame, plaque, kisok, or even a statue of Tim somewhere in the stadium but I don't think the ROF is the place for him, especially since there are people who are eligible that are not on there who deserve to be there.

Seriously though, if the Broncos would want to do anything why not put his barrel in a case with a description on a plaque about the guy in the concourse area.

For example, like this at marlins park.

He was great, but no way he should be in the ROF. Im sure he would think the same.

Putting fans in is something a franchise that hasn't won anything would do... I'm sure Seattle has something like this...

I'd say no.

Nothing against the Barrel Man, but he doesn't belong in the Ring of Fame.

I'd be disappointed if Denver put the Barrel Man in the Ring of Fame before players like Rick Upchurch and Simon Fletcher.
