It's been a long offseason. Drama = good.

He is a starter though. He makes more sense then the guy they just signed. Lilja has started most of his career and he is a manning guy.

Lilja isnt that bad actually

I know it sounds bad to ask a guy our of retirement, but he still had some gas in the tank when he was a Chief

Being a Chief would make anyone retire early.

Ryan Lilja is a weaker OL who gets destroyed by bigger DL.

Par for the course at that position so far. Sounds just like Ramirez.

I don't know if you heard, but JJ Watt is pretty good.

I mean, look, I'm sure Ramirez is the worst center in the league and all, but only HoF type dudes are handling Watt 1 on 1 with any consistency if he keeps playing like he played last year.

The funny thing you guys are missing on this play is that it was a T/E stunt by Watt and the DE. Franklin gave up the seem when the DE POPPED upfield and delayed, was late to get back over on the switch with ManRam. Basically Zues hung ManRam out to dry vs. Watt, aka dpoty.

Broncos are in serious trouble at center and none of these fixes are going to end well. Elway should be thinking trade.

i agree we should be thinking trade. but it will be tough to pry a good C away from a team unless they're rebuilding.

Broncos are too close to let center derail the oline. All the solutions being thrown around suck. Broncos are screwed right now.

FOX Sports has learned that center/guard Ryan Lilja is contemplating an offer from the Broncos.

Lilja, 31, announced his retirement last December following his third season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Lilja started 59 games for the Manning-led Indianapolis Colts at guard between 2004 and 2009. Lilja played center with the Chiefs in 2012.

Lilja’s potential addition would comes on the heels of the season-ending knee injury suffered by Broncos center Dan Koppen during last Sunday’s training camp practice. Koppen was replacing starting center J.D. Walton, who is sidelined until at least October following offseason ankle surgery. The Broncos shifted Louis Vasquez from guard to center in subsequent practices.Lilja's agent Craig Domann was unavailable for comment.

Saturday’s name was mentioned in media speculation as a potential Broncos signing because of his long-time affiliation with Manning as his center in Indianapolis. Saturday, though, will remain retired and serve as an NFL television analyst.

Lilja started 12 games in the middle and earned a positive rating at center from Pro Football Focus, which studies player performance.

Ramirez was the 6th best rated guard last year at pass protection according to pff.

not really understanding the hate around here. manram was more than serviceable at G last season, and he has just as much experience at C as kupe so.....

one animated gif going against the best interior pass rusher in the game is hardly an open and shut case

Not sure why the sky is falling here. The offensive roster on paper looks absolutely dynamic and it's a disaster because there is uncertainty at one position? Not to devalue the importance of the center, but a lot of it has to do with calling protection schemes. That can be learned. In terms of one on one play, IMO it'd be a lot scarier to have an issue at left tackle than center.

I was just pointing out pff isn't e best tool to use when evaluating players. And I'm sure there are more gifs vs weaker dt's out there. I remember manram getting abused in almost every game except the last 2.
