Yes they do....and yes they're frustrating, but it happens and we're just gonna have to hope the Broncos brain trust finds an adequate answer.

I'm not a fan of this time of year. I know its for players wanting to make the roster but I feel its way too long. 4 games? Should be 2 maybe 3 with the 3rd just for players on the bubble. But it's all about money and 4 games brings in more than 2.

Well the NFL is a business, and with the expanded rosters during training camp, it takes about 4 games to evaluate the roster and make the decisions on who stays and goes.

All I care about is coming out of August healthy.

Well who doesn't?

Um, probably because he was playing better then anybody else at that position. Just a wild guess though, haha.

Not too concerned right now. Yes this sucks and its a setback. There is plenty of time to get Manny or whoever they feel is best to start up to speed.

You can get your practice and learn plays or whatever you're calling it without playing 4 games.
That's fine but this injury didn't happen during a preseason game. It happened at practice and your post specifically lumped the two of them together.

You said "meaningless preseason/camp." My point is that camp is not meaningless and injuries like these happen even in practice as it did today, so your rant doesn't really make sense in the context of this thread or anything that happened today.

You're missing the knock on Ramirez. He can hold up just fine at the point of attack when he fights head on - his issue has been with lateral agility, and being able to shuffle well after contact. Successful pickup of an A gap blitz requires great interior communication, and the ability to slide quickly into the hole and properly position yourself in the path of the rushing LB. It's relevant because that (so far) has been Ramirez' glaring weakness. He hasn't shown that he can even lock up and shuffle the defender really well. He's almost the polar opposite of Beadles who has great feet, but can't really hold the point of attack (up to this point of his career).

An A gap blitz stretches the capabilities of all three interior linemen, it's just that he (at Center) would become the instant question mark in that trio - and yes, that's relevant.

In that post I was talking about preseason games in general. I'm not ranting about Koppen. 80% of these threads never stay on topic.

Are people forgetting, or has he made people forget? I don't see much in either ram or Blake. They have their chance to step up and win the spot but I'm not expecting much.

With Koppen going down, now is Blake's opportunity to step up.

BTW: If they keep Kuper under his current contract, they are majorly f'ed in capspace next year. Big problemo.

Except with Blake it seems like the front office is willing to bring in every guy off the street instead of giving him a chance. I know he's been hurt, and doesn't have the experience, but still not exactly a ringing endorsement. He's also 28-years-old. It's not like he's Hillman or Oz young either.

Tomorrow is the 4th day of camp. Give the FO, coaches and players time to work this out. Everything is going to be ok.

I know that GMs in the NFL pretend that other teams don't exist, but I wonder if we wouldn't be interested in, you know, trading for someone who has played a competent game at center at one point in his life?

No, because they cut Dumervil and McGahee (which I called).

Their other choice (other than reworking Kuper's contract) would be to cut Tamme this year and rework Champ next year (which he won't do).

Keeping everything "as is" puts the Broncos at the salary cap limit in 2014, with about $6M TOTAL to spend on Decker, Woodyard, and Beadles.
