Your claim caught my eye so I did some searching and while I haven't found a murder rate comparison quite so bleak, I did find something that says Denver is safer than only 14 percent of other major cities.

Didn't Denver's violent crime rate shoot up when all those attacks were happening downtown around 3 or 4 years ago?
