Nobody called Rahim a pro-bowl player.

It's been a long offseason, and I'm calling people out. The Dream is still atop the depth chart, and by all acounts played lights out today. Sweet redemption.

It's one small step for Rahim, and one giant fail for all the haters.

Rahim will be fine, his problem is that the fans refuse to acknowledge him as a good player because he didn't live up to the draft hype of being a ball hawking safety.

Actually, I expect Hilman to be the day 1 starter, with Ball as his back up, just because Hilman has the benefit of being ahead of Ball in terms of knowing the offense. That being said, Ball should take the starting job from him by the Bye, and maybe sooner.

You can serve me up a big plate of crow at the end of the season.

Actually he had one year of that. The following year he just coasted through it like a true Bruin. Hardly a ball hawker the year before he was drafted.

I don't care who plays. Put Calvin Lowery back there if you want. All I want is for the Broncos to win the Superbowl. The season is here!!!

Being the broncos best safety isn't much different than being the best player on the chargers. It sounds nice until you see who the competition is

I'm so glad that all the "experts" on the Fan don't know what they're talking about. I remember guys like that loud mouthed arrogant prick in the mornings (Joel the Clap? Can't remember his name) talking about how there was NO WAY Rahim could ever play in Denver again. No way. He was ruined. The Broncos would cut him for sure.

Idiots.

Improving tackling is not a "solid" season. His inflated PFF numbers are from making majority of his tackle attempts and not being in coverage one on one enough where he would surrender yardage/catches/TDs.

Would still like to be proven wrong.
Is the best safety on the Broncos' roster by a long mile
Would start on most teams in the league

Seriously you are an idiot...

I'm going to be very disappointed if we start the season with a scatback as our starting running back.

If you watched him in college, he's really not a scatback.

If he didn't play for Florida I doubt he watched him.

If Hillman starts week 1 it's either because Fox has an irrational fear of rookie backs, or because Ball looks so bad that we cut him. barring some miracle transformation, Hillman will never be a legitimate starter for anyone, ever.

I was not impressed with Hillman last year but it is way too early to make that statement. That being said Hillman's next broken tackle in the NFL will be his first. He was tackled way too easily last year. Hopefully, the extra weight will help him in that area.

Interesting article on Hillman's offseason

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/T...n-shape-072213

Quote:
Gaines barks out keywords and phrases to trigger each player, challenging them.

“Thirty carries a game, Ronnie Hillman!” Gaines yells at the Broncos’ second-year running back, who has added 20 pounds of muscle this offseason. “Montee Ball is coming for you. Hold that ball high.”

He was 20 years old last year! He ran entirely too tentatively all throughout the season, but if he finds comfort this year, especially with the increased weight, there's no reason he shouldn't be productive. He's definitely athletic enough for it.

But on the above note, and this concern admittedly may come from my imagination, I fear he's an athlete that thinks too much. And that's dangerous. Between his tentative running and how much that fumble in week 17 affected him during the playoff game (he was way more concerned with ball protection than running), it looks like fear may get the best of him at times. But again, perhaps comfort will cure this, and while its doomed some athletes' careers, a guy like LeBron James is doing just fine.

I think that was just how a rookie responds to something like that. He should be OK the more time he gets in as a pro. I don't look at the RB position like I did 10 or so years ago. Although its a huge part of an offense it doesn't seem like the priority it used to be. Maybe Im a little skewed since I was used to seeing anyone thrown in there roll to 1,000. In today's game now I'm looking at RBs pass blocking skills.

Well he's not really an NFL feature back either.

Well we just drafted a guy who projects as one, so again I'm not seeing Hillman as our starter.
