Magazu doesn't mess around man! I like his style, best OL coach since Alex Gibbs, IMO. Today I was near the endzone so I didn't get a great look at the OL drills.

Decker and Manning have some great chemistry, Orange Julius looks better than yesterday. He's gonna be a sleeper, and on Defense I thought "Burton" (aka Bruton) was the star. He knocked away passes and beat a intercepted a ball from Manning.

Champ got beat badly by Decker, but made up for it on the next time they faced off. I'll try and post a video.

The battle between Chris Harris and Welker continues to impress.

Ihenacho still with 1s, Bruton and Carter w/2s today.

Mike Adams is coming in for Dime, didn't see much of Jammer at all

Nate Irving is starting Mike. He made some good plays today.

Overall it was a pretty boring practice apart from the 60 yard TD off a delay to Hillman.

It was pretty much a walk through practice, not a whole lot to write about.

PLAYMAKERS
It would be hard to pick a player of the day from Friday's practice, which was filled with highlights. But Ronnie Hillman is certainly a candidate. Early on in nine-on-seven drills focused on running plays, Hillman broke a run to the sideline for what would've been a first down, drawing cheers from the crowd. But in full-team drills he had an even more impressive showing, bursting up the middle before finding the sideline and sprinting for a touchdown.

"The last two days, he's been very impressive," Offensive Coordinator Adam Gase said after practice. "It's good to see him really develop."

Another candidate could be Danny Trevathan, who snared another impressive interception during red-zone drills. On the first play of the period, Peyton Manning's pass was swatted away in coverage by Tony Carter, but Trevathan came away with the pick before the ball hit the ground, much to the delight of the crowd and the linebacker's defensive teammates.

On the very next play during that red-zone period, Manning found Wes Welker past the coverage of Chris Harris and Wesley Woodyard for a touchdown in the back of the end zone.

In the next set of red-zone plays, it was Woodyard's turn to get in on the action, breaking up a pass intended for Joel Dreessen at the last second. On the next two plays, however, Manning found Julius Thomasand Demaryius Thomas for touchdowns.

Shaun Phillips notched what would've been two sacks on quarterback Brock Osweiler during team drills.

Osweiler made two plays of his own during red-zone drills, first hitting Andre Caldwell for a touchdown -- the receiver went up and over cornerback Kayvon Webster -- and later rushing in for the score by himself.

During special-teams drills, Trindon Holliday broke a long return down the sideline with Jeremiah Johnson sprinting beside him, signaling that it would've been a touchdown.
In one-on-one drills between receivers and cornerbacks, Eric Decker beat Champ Bailey for two catches, the second of which featured a nice cut that drew "ooohs" from the crowd.

Among the defensive standouts in those same one-on-one drills were David Bruton, who had a pick, and Tony Carter and Kayvon Webster, who had breakups. Welker and Harris continued their fun-to-watch back-and-forths in the drill. On consecutive attempts, Welker hauled in a pass and Harris knocked one away in tight coverage.

During the final team drills, Manning hit Demaryius Thomas over the middle ahead of Von Miller in coverage and Osweiler rolled to his right before firing a pass to Gerell Robinson on the sideline.

QUICK HITS
New Broncos center/guard Ryan Lilja worked on snapping the ball to Osweiler before practice began, then spent some time snapping to Manning after the individual drill was finished.

During a break in practice, punter Ryan Doerr threw a deep pass to fellow punter Britton Colquitt, who dove into a group of blocking dummies to make the catch.

Broncos Ring of Famer Terrell Davis watched practice while working for NFL Network. After the session he interviewed Montee Ball, who named Davis as his idol.

During special-teams drills, Ryan Clady, Chris Kuper (who is on the physically unable to perform list) and Sylvester Williams worked with Strength and Conditioning Coach Luke Richesson off to the side.

Harris is going to have a monster season from learning from Champ and going against the best slot receiver in the game and the best QB in the league on a daily basis. As much as I like Decker and Woodyard; Harris needs to be the priority free agent next season

I didn't see either David Bruton or Mike Adams take any snaps from Duke Ihenacho at first team safety. I may have missed it, but it looks like the Broncos are getting more and more comfortable with a starting unit of Rahim Moore and Duke Ihenacho.

"Weíre not getting ahead of ourselves," defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio said of Ihenacho. "It hasnít occurred in a game or anything like that. But heís worked hard and made plays and earned time to continue, to see if he can continue."

Five Thoughts from Camp Day Nine

3. Will Lerentee McCray be the undrafted rookie who sustains the Broncos' decade-long streak of having at least one undrafted free agent on the 53-man roster after final cuts? It's way too early to tell, given that the preseason opener is still six days away, but he had his best sequence of training camp on back-to-back plays Friday.
On the first, McCray tore through the line and blew up a handoff from Brock Osweiler to Montee Ball. On the next play, McCray swatted away a pass at the line of scrimmage.
McCray's progress bears watching, especially since one of the linebackers with whom he's competing for a roster spot is Steven Johnson, who was one of two undrafted rookies to make last year's season-opening 53-man roster (long snapper Aaron Brewer was the other). Special teams will be where the potential candidates weed themselves out, but if McCray can continue showing flashes of the playmaker he was at Florida when he wasn't dogged by injuries, he'll have a shot.

5. Duke Ihenacho continues to work his way in with the first team, and he and Rahim Moore saw plenty of work together anchoring the back line of the No. 1 defense Friday. Del Rio said Ihenacho was "probably" the biggest surprise of training camp in terms of where he stood last year, but stopped well short of declaring that he had the inside track on a starting slot.
"Heís done some good things. Thatís good. But thatís just a start. Nobody should get too far ahead of themselves," Del Rio said. "Itís a long process. We havenít even begun to get into preseason games. There is a lot left to do. Thereís a lot more install to do. Weíll just see how it goes. But heís done well so far."

A preseason game has not even been played. No depth chart means much yet.

NFL network with TD:

I like how they said he (champ) knows it's inevitable that the move to safety eventually but for now he's still ready to line up CB.

It's encouraging that he won't be one of those players that just retires when he's asked to move positions or responsibilities when the time comes (hopefully).
