There will be. If he already has three failed drug tests he is looking at possibly a year suspension the next time. It will come up. Probably if he has another positive tes the Broncos can reclaim part of the signing bonus or something to that extent.

Even 4 games isn't the end of the world.

It's just unnerving that a guy you count on to be a leader-- in a season where a title is a legit goal-- is capable of doing something so stupid.

If the Broncos actually moved to reclaim part of the bonus...whether they were legally entitled to or not.....it would ensure he would retaliate by refusing to re-sign here.

Miller is a high-profile player, and any suspension that comes on grounds the NFLPA deems to be shaky will be fought with special vigor. Stay tuned.

Once again, this is from 2 years ago. If I was playing with Orton and Teebs, I prob would have been rolling every night too.

They don't really need him for September.

They need him for January and February.

Someone else will be turned loose to get the sacks with the leads the Broncos are going to build up.

Two reasons the Broncos are fine without Von for 4 games.

1. It will be the regular season.
2. We have PMFM.

So the defense lets the other team score 23 points instead of 20. They still wont score more than the Broncos.

I haven't read through this thread so I don't know if this has been discussed. I heard Von was appealing. If he appeals could they delay the suspension until decided and he plays some of the first 4 games and then they decide he loses the appeal could he be suspended later in the season? Or will they decide the appeal before the season? I'm just sick over this.

"it's now believed Miller failed a recent test for the drug "Molly," which is essentially ecstasy, after getting popped for marijuana and amphetamines as a rookie, although there is still little clarity as to the specific reasons for his four-game suspension. The ban remains under appeal"

Price our resident cap expert..

Tell me something Price as your are as knowledgeable on personnel as your are astute of the salary cap..

What should Denver do about the pass rush, if Von in fact receives a 4 game suspension?

We could have avoided this dilemma by being less cheap with Doom...and/or not getting into a dick measuring contest so that it had to come down to the last second. Considering that since this is a subsequent offense, Denver likely knew of this Von issue and still chose to play with fire over a measly 2m.

So the answer to your question is, we should (or should have) valued key personnel more than liquor products for our less than glorious leader.

We can't take it back unfortunately.. I listen to how great Doom is everyday and that he is going to hurt Peyton opening night.

But Doom is not here, so ideally something should be done. I am not confident in Ayers..

Since we can't rush the passer, we will need to resort to the Ray Rhodes 2-9 circa 2002.

Thanks Pat.
