The best part about that thread is the post at the end where they start saying our defense literally "can't stop anybody."

Yeah, the middle guy with his arms crossed among the sea of homerism makes the gif. Probably the only one alive during the Chefs SB victory. He's like "Not this **** again! Last year we coulda had RGIII or Luck and this year the best we can do with no. 1 overall is a LT that we're moving to RT. **** this ****."

Chef planet is the only board I lurk on. The combination of homerism, shame, anger and bitterness is outstanding.

I like the guy who posted that he had an hour conversation with some random important guy at the Denver airport. Could have been a doctor, could have been an agent, not really sure, but the guy with 100 percent certainty knows that Peyton Manning's head will fall off either this year or next.

That should have set the franchise back a decade. Elway, if nothing else, was good PR. People in Denver would never object.

I thought at the time that it might be a bad move. Great players don't always make great executives, and Elway had no NFL front office experience. Ozzie Newsome and Jerry West are among the rare cases of great players becoming great executives; it just doesn't happen that often. But in typical Elway fashion, he willed himself to be one of the best GMs in the NFL. Signing Ryan Clady, one of the NFL's best left tackles, to a deal that benefited both sides before the contract deadline for franchise-tagged players is just another sign of how well he has transitioned to his new job.

The way Elway has completely rebuilt the Broncos in a little more than two years is absolutely remarkable.

In less than three years, Elway has transformed a 4-12 Broncos team he inherited into one that has gone 18-1 in its past 19 regular-season games.

It's not supposed to be this easy. There are NFL general managers who started in the business cutting up video tape, scouting in thedesolate reaches of the South, grinding through waiver-wire rules and administrative regulations, working their way up to the top front-office job, and never came close to achieving this type of success.

Elway pretty much went from Hall of Fame quarterback to architect of the NFL's prohibitive favorite to win it all.

His secret weapon, which he learned at Stanford Business School: the Power Handshake[/URL].

Power handshake is not easy, in fact it's very difficult. You pull his hand into your gut, while pressing your left hand on his upper arm or shoulder to make distance. The result is an image of power and control. John does it quite well, and quite intentionally.

I don't agree with the premise that he basically fell into the job. He pretty much ran the Orange Crush by himself, and was able to bring a championship to Denver. While that wasn't NFL level, the concepts and practices are the same. And his father was a coach and footballs scout. So Elway taking over wasn't as cold Turkey as people think.

Agreed, Crush is serious business, they're sure as heck not junior high. John waited a long time to have a place in the organization. Supposedly he wanted in somewhere all along, but Shanahan wasn't thrilled with the idea.

Think for a minute what he faced in January 2011 when he took over: Coming off an all-time franchise-worst 4-12 record, the debacle of a too-young too-controlling coach, branded as cheaters, with the cupboard as bare as the chiefs trophy case. And he kinda stumbled coming in, with the Tebow-Orton-Tebow thing, but then ... BOOM-BOOM, first two seasons, 2 Division titles. He signed Peyton Manning and a managed to load up the roster in his first 14 months. Pretty cool.

The Chiefs got the number one pick in a very bad year. Fisher does look bad, but then again so do some guys like Milliner.

The Colts got so lucky to turn it around fast like that.

John Elway is NFL's top executive in 2013 as Broncos bos

In 2013, has any NFL executive done a better job than Elway? No.

While he was often mentioned as executive of the year candidate a year ago after landing Peyton Manning to play quarterback, a compelling case can be made that Elway actually made shrewder personnel moves this season.

The three Denver players most deserving of an invitation to the Pro Bowl are Manning, guard Louis Vasquez and Rodgers- Cromartie. All were brought to town by Elway.

While the fax machine faux pas with pass rusher Elvis Dumervil hogged headlines, Vasquez and Rodgers-Cromartie were part of a free-agent class that also included wide receiver Wes Welker and defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. Where would the Broncos be without those acquisitions?

Nowhere near first place in the AFC with a 12-3 record.

Elway is a boss and is without a doubt the greatest Bronco of all time.
He is further cementing his legacy as he continues to make key personnel moves and make this team better and better.
