No one is hanging their hat on that. But, we did win the division, make the playoffs, won a game against a SB contender all the while having quite possibly the worst(or at least the most abnormal) starting QB in NFL history at the helm.

KC can't even draft a QB.

Trust me, I know. I didn't say that I feel like he's undeserved.

It's just... the immediate impact and improvement he provides is so staggeringly beyond anything even the best free agents could offer. I mean we signed one of the very, very, very best players to ever play quarterback. I get how that could seem like using a cheat code.

No, what teams would do well if their franchise QB was out, no one would.

So if anything you dont know what you're talking about. In other news, water is wet.

Dont think they'd be a 2-win team like you seem to think they would.

Like King Carl, we'll find out just how good of a GM Elway is when he doesn't have a HOF QB carrying the load.

Gonna be interesting

You're assuming that Manning is doing the drafting and the signing of free agents, then?

Elway doesn't get credit for replacing a bum like Tebow?

Its arguably his best move to date and, considering the rabid fan base, one of the best moves to pull off all time without creating a mutiny

That's something a GM should do. Everyone knew Tebow wasn't the long term answer

Manning makes everybody look better and has for years. When he plays bad the entire team falls apart.

This isn't rocket science.

Maybe so but he could have been a back up and Brock's 2nd round pick could have been used on David the stud linebacker at a position of need still today.

Except Indy built flawed teams.

Not saying Den is a SB-contender without Manning but they'd still compete for the playoffs most years depending who the QB is.

Say Brock is the QB this year. How do you think your team is compared to Manning, and against this schedule?

You're dumb. GM's aren't responsible for wins or loses. They're responsible for getting talent on the team. Coaches and QBs are responsible for wins and loses.

Who hires the coaches? Who drafts the players?

Talk about dumb.

Elway doesn't get credit with landing Manning? It isn't like the Broncos were the only ones chasing after him.

I think he would do alright and get better with every game. Denver coaches adjusted to Tebow and won a playoff game with him surely they can create a game plan that works for Brock.

The thing about the Broncos that gets overlooked is we have great position coaching in every spot, couple that with what is shaping up to be a great FO and the Broncos will do well every year going forward.

Elway is in the process of building a dynasty type team. We are going to be in the hunt every year.

Yeah. The best at being the very 1st team to offer Manning a contract, and the 1st and only team to be completely ignored and laughed off by Manning.

Once manning retires there is no certainty of a dynasty. Especially since Ware, Welker and talib are short term and nobody knows what Brock is capable of.

A player like Manning being available very rarely happens. And since his drafts haven't helped that much overall says a lot.

Time will tell. For the first time since the early Shanahan years I love out chances of fielding a competitive (playoff capable) team every year.

This is bull****. It was on the heels of a fan base that wanted him around and a playoff victory. Say what you want, but it was not the obvious thing to do, nor was replacing him the popular thing to do. Elway knew he had one play, get Manning. And he got it done. Don't diminish the decision with your BS hindsight
