Default The Official NFL Draft (Day 2) Thread | Lynch is QBOTF, who else will Denver get?

So Denver got their QBOTF in Paxton Lynch, eh?

Lets kick off this thread early with some rumors.

James Bradberry, CB, Samford
The surprise pick in Day 2 could be Samford cornerback James Bradberry. Rated by most (including yours truly) as a middle-round selection, I'm told several teams are considering Bradberry in the second round.

Shon Coleman, OT, Auburn
Its quite possible offensive tackle Shon Coleman could take a big fall through the second day of the draft. While he has first-round skills, I'm told the knee injury, which slowed him during the run-up to the draft, has been red-flagged by a number of teams.

Alex Lewis, OT, Nebraska
One tackle I'm told that will come off the board during the second day of the draft is Alex Lewis of Nebraska, and that will surprise many. I reported from the Shrine Game there was talk of Lewis landing in the second day, as teams love his upside. I'm told it's a situation where Lewis may end up playing guard as a rookie as he develops his game and physically matures before being kicked out to tackle.

Javon Hargrave, DT, South Carolina
South Carolina State defensive tackle Javon Hargrave should be off the board before Day 2 is complete. People I've spoken with say Hargrave has been one of the best interviews this year during the pre-draft process, as he's come across as an honest individual who loves football.

. . .

Feel free to post anything (Tweets, rumors, etc.) here!

According to the official site, John Elway said they started making calls at noon today, as high as #17 to the Atlanta Falcons to see what it'd take to move up and get Paxton Lynch.

I'm not against us trading up again for a top guy. Chris Jones and Spriggs at the top of my list.

I actually like that because it shows they believe in him. That's my thing with QBs...don't dick around if you think you think you've identified a franchise guy. Sounds like Elway thinks he has. We'll see.

Gary Kubiak on Paxton Lynch: "When I watch him on film, the thing that is really exciting is this guy extends plays. He has a knack for making people miss, extending plays,” Kubiak said. “It is really hard in this business to coach guys to keep their eyes down the field when they are moving and this guy does a great job of that. He’s a big strong kid, makes all the throws, moves around very, very well and like I said he is very motivated too. That is one thing I really like about him.”

I wouldn't mind trading up to get Derrick Henry.

Haven't heard anything about Coleman's knee, but if we can get him in the late 2nd, we don't really need him this year, we would have a LT of the future if we don't want to play Okung next year.

Losing the 3rd rounder hurts.

I'm hoping for:

2nd - OT Shon Coleman
3rd - DT Dean Lowry

Maybe Lowry will still be around in the 4th, if so, would love to squeeze KJ Dillon in there.

He's a great option, but it would be surprising to see him still available late in the 2nd.

I brought up his knee injury in the OM Mock Draft and prior as a valid concern outside him having cancer. I hope we don't take him.

I like Whitehair, but he would require another trade, no doubt. I've got a gut feeling about Tyler Boyd (he catches everything that comes near him). Also like Sean Davis for STs. Derrick Henry (I love big backs) could work. I like Shalique Calhoun, and think he would be a good fit in a rush rotation. Matakavich with that 94th would work for me. I'll bet Wade would love him.

one pick in the second round if I'm correct... I would like to see the pick go to the offensive line. Excited for lynch.. past 3 weeks ive been bummed about the qb situation now I can't wait for the preseason to see what this kid has to offer this great organization. In Elway I trust!

Denver Broncos picks remaining: 63, 98, 136, 144, 157, 219, 228, 253

In 2017: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (6, SF -- Vernon Davis, 7 (CONDITIONAL) -- Mark Sanchez

Will likely receive two third round compenastory (Malik, Brock), fifth (Trevathan), 7 (Harris). So. . . 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 7.

Lots of picks to move around and get their top guys. I'd like to see them get a OL, DL, S and ILB!

Lewis is hit or miss. He gets flagged a lot. Bradberry is a legit player.

In that case, trade up and grab Whitehair and I'm in draft heaven.

Jones, Whitehair, Bullard, and a few others...I've got no issue with another trade up since none will be there at 63, and also that 9 rookie aren't going to make our deep squad.
