I guess he took the scenic route meeting in surprise manner?
There was no "instead of going home" he was on his way home.

It really comes down to justifiable use of deadly force (stand your ground) during the fight

Did GZ shoot TM because he 'wanted to'.... or 'had no choice" to save himself'. Thus self defense or not. The rest is just minutia in this case.

Look at the maps and watch the testimony. You are wrong.

I get that for some reason you are set on your blame. But you're making the wrong argument then.

Not hardly. But I don't buy the mythology of Trayvon's sainthood either. My post was intended to point out how two, civilized people might have handled this. I don't consider Zimmerman blameless either.

depends on who you believe i guess. Martin obviously slower then Zimmerman so it seems logical to me the kid got sick of walking away from him. Instead he decided to lay in wait. Otherwise the much younger, much faster Zimmerman would never have caught him. He exited his truck so right then he was slower then Martin.

I have advised all my teenage nephews to only turn and fight when you are cornered. Someone following you could be confident because they have a gun. Martin may have stood there and Zimmerman walked up, may have walked towards him, may have laid in wait but now way did Zimmerman surprise him. Zimmerman got jumped first and was beaten down fairly quick. That indicated he was not the first aggressor IMO.

Some things are up for debate. Some things are not. People act as if there isn't an agreed timeline out there that both parties agreed to for the jury to take back with them in deliberations. There is.

So can someone explain to me why, on CNN tonight, they were talking about the jury people. Giving info on everything except what their names were, there was one they described as being, a mother, and either black or Hispanic. Does it not sound good to say that maybe they are a black Hispanic? Or is there no such thing.

Florida State Attorney's I.T. director was just fired.

The whistle blower that claimed serious discovery violations against the prosecution holding back Trayvon's texts and photos that were deleted and kept from the defense.

http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/2...y-director-who

...In January, Kruidbos used computer software technology to extract photographs and text messages from the source file in Martin’s cellphone. Kruidbos was able to recover more information than the Florida Department of Law Enforcement obtained previously.

Kruidbos said he became concerned that lead prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda might not have turned over Kruidbos’ report to defense attorneys. Kruidbos asked White in April for legal advice and described some contents of his report such as a photo of an African-American hand holding a gun, a photo of a plant resembling marijuana, and a text message referring to a gun transaction.

Before Kruidbos’ name surfaced in the Martin trial proceedings, he received a pay raise for “meritorious performance,” according to a document dated May 16 in his personnel file...

I don't know if this would mean anything. I doubt it would have been admitted anyway. Might be grounds for review if Z is found guilty? Shows that Zs initial assessment of TM was probably right on.

The media saying Zimmerman is a white hispanic is a low point for our whole society. You don't see them calling Obama the White Negro, or the white black when the describe him. It's shameful. Anyway to get white racism into the story I guess. It sucks how white people are just labled the racist race all the time.

I think with his swarthy () complexion not aligning with his Teutonic surname, the catch-all term hispanic was modified for more precise and descriptive purposes. Also interesting that the East coast MSM uses hispanic but the West and SW MSM use latino as ethnic descriptors.

It's likely manslaughter or acquittal at this point.

They've asked for a clarification of the charge of manslaughter.

I Don't like the manipulation, but for what its worth, the US Govt considers white and hispanic one and the same.

My experience comes from lending and banking, HMDA questions lump hispanics with whites, however it also has a sub question about latino.

Not guilty. It was the right call, manly because of reasonable doubt. Don't think the prosecution did enough to show that it was not justified. People got to remember that he does not to prove that it was self-defense, the prosecution has to prove that it was not justified. Overall the prosecution didn't do a very good job, and the defense did really well.

Surely there will be peaceful acceptance of the correct verdict. Would not expect the annoying persons to act in a predictably annoying fashion over the correct verdict.

A just verdict. Case never should have been prosecuted.

I totally didn't agree with 2nd degree murder. But one man has a gun, one doesn't? If, as some have said, the kid was going for the gun, that's still Zimmerman's fault. He should have been charged with something. There may be reasonable doubt about what actually happened but in the end the facts are that an unarmed kid is dead and an armed man is walking free.
