Alex Gibbs and the one cut zone blocking scheme: Montae is young and coachable, and runs the one cut well.........Willis isn't young and plays to a power running game...not a one cut back, and probably isn't excited about learning a new running game..........

Timing of Willis McGahee's release means he won't receive potential $500,000 injury protection benefit. Details:

The Broncos weren't worried about paying the half-mil because they know McGahee is going to play somewhere this season -- maybe inside AFC West with either #Chargers or #Raiders. Still, the team followed protocol for player who finished previous season on injured reserve. When McGahee returned for the Broncosí mandatory minicamp arrived this week, he first passed his physical so he could be cleared for workouts. He then fully participated in two minicamp practices.
Had the Broncos released McGahee before he showed he was healthy, the player may have been entitled to a $500,000 injury protection benefit.
To be clear Broncos released McGahee because John Elway and John Fox are convinced Ronnie Hillman-Montee Ball can be their RB tandem. But the timing of release was team doing its due financial deligence

he did not at all get outplayed by Moreno.

Broncos don't really use a FB in their offense. Unless they're changing up from what they did last year.

In away we did with hiring Gibbs. The only thing that is missing is the a good FB when we go to run out the clock.

I think Moreno was better after he took over for McGahee last year than McGahee was during the season. The ypc was in McGahee's favor.

Moreno was better in term of: total yards, yards per game, catches per game, receiving yards per game, TDs per game, fumbles. And he was just fine in pass pro.

Father Time's mandate is never nice......

McGahee gave us decent production and I wish him well......but it was time for him to go. Too many fumbles at the most inopportune times. I think the Broncos will go into the 2013 season with same guys from last season with Montee supplanting McGahee .

They had Gronk... and then Hester. The number of plays the Broncos ran with fullbacks, in terms of percentage, was in the single digits.

It's hard to believe how obsessed with him some posters got.... and how pissed they were when we traded him for Brady Quinn.

The both turned out to be pretty worthless as players. Even when Hillis was accounting for half of Cleveland's offense, he still wasn't producing, on average, what he was producing in Denver.

Hillis is still a pretty good fullback. Too bad he wants to play HB.

My only concern is whether we have enough leadership across the board. PM has the offense. I've never seen Champ as much of a vocal leader...who else is there? Woodyard? O.k.

I would like to have seen a couple vets added who can provide more leadership inside the locker room and on the field.

Magahee may not have been great...but he commanded respect and guys looked up to him. Same with Doom. Who's replacing their those leadership roles?

Woodyard is great. A blue-collar worker who worked his place into the NFL by sheer will, and is really starting to come into his own.

Many reasons for the Moreno hate- pick one

[] He wasn't the guy they wanted the Broncos to draft.

[] He was drafted #12 overall

[] He was drafted by McDaniels

[] He can't stay healthy

what's hilarious is the love clowns like Jeremiah Johnson get on here when they can't even find a way off the practice squad.

List the posters that pimp JJ. I'm sure it is a huge list.

Just because a handful of poster would like to see JJ be successful (errand clearly thinks such a thing is bad for the broncos) doesn't have anything to do with Moreno. I would rather see JJ then Lance F'ing Ball, though I don't think I have ever cared enough about JJ to post this. I guess that reflects on my feelings for Moreno. For all the good Moreno did last year he yet again showed us why poster continually say we can't count on him. I mean by all means prove this thinking wrong, because I remember when Denver needed him he was out with another knee injury.
