Jets had a lot of issues before they traded for #15. Cap problems, talent problems, and bad management. I wouldn't be making any excuses for a guy that had a butt fumble last year.

Really? Im not the world's biggest tim tebow fan, but he was more of a non-factor than "sucking." He didn't even play all that much! Plus, the Jets didnt even use him in the ONE thing he does really well: goal line work.

The jets are so screwed up, let me count the ways:

1. Hiring Rex Ryan as the HC
2. Extending Sanchize with a boat load of guaranteed $
3. Bringing TT in when Rex Ryan, at best, was non-supportive of the idea
4. Airing out their dirty laundry to the media
5. Firing the entire FO yet retaining Rex Ryan
6. Drafting another prima donna QB Geno Smith
7. Having a locker room with two fagile egos in Sanchez & Geno Smith

That's just 7 rapid fire points of crappiness that I came up with in seconds...

Peter King at SI scores it as a great fit for Tebow, out of three landing spots he had in mind: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl...land-patriots/

Also, "Peter King" would be a great gay porn name.

I honestly can't believe people have this much time in their lives to devote to Tebow arguments. Here's my one and only take...

There are 20-30 teams in the league who have back-up QBs less productive than Tebow has been.

Let's say you're Carolina and somehow manage to scrap a .500ish record by week 12 and Newton goes down with injury. You've got a few weeks of football left. Who would you rather stick in there to try to salvage a couple of wins... no matter how it gets done?
Tim Tebow, or some schmuck like Derek Anderson?

Tebow is what he is. He's not a consistent passer, probably never will be. But, if you run a read-option or spread offense and need a dude in an emergency option, he's proven he's extremely capable. The notion that he should have been out of football is insane.
I hate Bill B. but he's no dummy. He knows a commodity when he sees one.

So, he's a great back-up option and now that's just what he'll do. He's also fun to watch when he's in there.

What does it have to be any more complicated than that?

Exactly. Too many reasons why the jets are the jets.

1. He built a team that could compete and beat the Pats in just a few short seasons.
2. Bad move made worse by a trading for a guy that brings nothing but more media attention to your team.
3. Owners choice
4. Hard not to do when so many reporters are hounding you non stop.
5. Good move getting most of the trash out, I don't know why Ryan was kept other then he did take the Jets to back to back AFC championship games.
6. They drafted him in the second round. He was thought to be a top 5 pick. Hard to pass up when you need a QB really, really bad. The new FO wants to rid themselves of Sanchez. Have to start somewhere. They did the right thing of drafting D players in the first round and NOT take the risk of drafting a bust QB in the first round. They waited and got the best QB available in this draft according to a few people.
7. Point 6 and 7 had nothing to do with the 2012 NYJ's. Again the new FO wants to rid themselves of Sanchez and are willing to take a chance on. I'm not a Geno Smith fan at all. He was a second round pick and will be signed for 4 years at just under 5 million dollars. Worth the risk if somehow he does pan out.

lol, you're defending this franchise? Let me put it this way, I'd have drafted Dysert before Geno Smith. I guess we can agree to disagree.

Lol, you are defending a guy on his 3rd team in 4 years and his 4th HC in as many years. Yeah clearly Tebow is just a scapegoat. Cutler and Jeff George called Tebow a coach killer.

I'll say this again because it's true and I'm not defending TT: the jets were and are a dysfunctional franchise and TT had nothing to do with this. Sure, TT created more of a circus but that was not his fault. I seriously don't know how you don't understand this point.

Excellent takes all the way 'round ... especially the idea that you should have an offensive scheme tailored to his strengths. I think Tebow's biggest obstacle in the league has been lack of creativity from too-traditional coaches and OC's.

Who the **** cares about Geno Smith. Seriously I don't give one **** about that tool bag, so your list of QB's that you would draft before him doesn't matter to me. The Jets are not married to him at all given where he was drafted. Should they blow again this year and get into a position to draft another QB I'm sure the next HC will do just that.

None of what you are saying changes the fact that Teblow came in to the Jets locker room and caused problems. That is why he is on HC number 4.

And everyone knows that circus makes the problems magnifies them and makes them worse. Non stop media about a team no one would care about because of Tebow. Instead of the Jets problems being about injuries and lossing one of, if not the best player in all of football (Revis) getting hurt it's about the third string QB and his lack of playing time. Players from both the Broncos and Jets cracked and talked bad about Tebow yet you guys seem to think he isn't a locker room problem.

Point being, the Jets FO should have never traded for TT and should have never brought him in. Yet they did, that is the mark of a dysfunctional franchise, especially when the FO acquires a player that the coaching doesn't want.

The circus that comes with TT is what it is. Tebow doesn't control it. As for any "locker room" issues, this is why an unstable franchise like the jets become much more volatile with Tebow. It was like dumping gasoline on a fire. Again, bad decision by the front office. Rex Ryan was too damn stupid to know what to do and this didn't help the situation either. The OC didn't know what to do with TT so this caused problems. Sanchez's vagina was hurt so this caused problems.

At least Fox figured something out and used TT as best he could. The jets were a full on 3 alarm dumpster fire and it was due to many things but mainly gross incompetence by the front office and coaching staff.

So... I'm watching Obama on CNN talking Live concerning this immigration bill... and then they cut away for another news alert.

Tebow going to the Pats.

Really? Did they really just do that...

That was basically my argument to keep Tebow to backup / study under Manning

For the love of god. He ****s up locker rooms!!! That is how he makes the team worse. The pressure of Tebow just being on the team made Sanchez even worse, which no one would have dreamed possible.

No team with Tebow on it in the NFL has won more then 8 games in a season. 4-12, 8-8, and 6-10. Countless anonymous players speak out about his poor abilities every year. This is what Tebow brings to the table as a team mate. That is every bit as dangerous to a locker room as signing a guy like T.O with less ability on the football field.

Show me one player that went through as many HC's or teams as Tebow in is his first 4 years in the NFL that had nothing to do with him as a player and I will concede that Tebow doesn't cause locker room riffs.
