Coach Golden has been formally offered the Penn State job and I expect him to accept.

If he goes to PSU then the trickle effect for Texas and Miami should be interesting.
Supposedly Texas is zeroing in on Franklin and Strong. So if PSU goes Golden, Texas goes Franklin/Strong then Schiano to Miami?

That's how it looks to me. Wonder if SoCal likes Schiano?

Schiano was the DC at Miami in 1999 and 2000. In the past, he has twice turned down the Miami HC job (or maybe one and a half times). He is a pretty good recruiter (responsible for DJ in 2000) and solid defensive coach and Butch Davis was and still is his mentor. He is a dick, though.

I don't know. I DON'T want another coach. I am a huge fan of Golden, even with his gameday limitations, but I do expect him to take the PSU job now that it has been formally offered. That has always been his No. 1 dream job and that's always been very clear, no game playing. He doesn't have any problem walking into two more years of bowl bans. He would do it for them no questions asked just because its Penn State.

I don't have a desired replacement. The one we have is the real deal, especially with strong coordinators. There are maybe 3-4 better recruiters as HCs in the whole country.

FSUs level of athlete far outclasses Auburn. I'd love to see Auburn win.

They will get raped. The difference in talent is massive.

You will see it soon enough. I hope I'm wrong.
That is a bunch of nonsense. Florida schools get a good bulk of the top tier 4-5 star players and some of the best 3 star underrated guys.
A Florida school hasn't won a NC since Florida in 2008. The NC game has been dominated by schools that rely on GA,LA,TX,AL & VA for recruiting in the more recent years.

California,Texas,Louisiana,Pennsylvania,Georgia,Vi rginia,Ohio,South Carolina,North Carolina,Maryland & Illinois all produce a ton of high end talent.
The difference in talent isn't massive at all. Chizik was a horrible coach but he could recruit like a mother and his classes were well regarded and highly ranked. Malzahn is no slouch either and has a nice class coming in for next season in addition to the class he helped keep together and added to this pass recruiting season.

Good hire if true. Dude is a great recruiter and defensive mind....will have a massive amount of resources. He already does good work in SFla.....I expect Texas to be very active down there and the street agents will steer kids there due to the cash they have at their disposal. Charlie really wanted the UF job last time it came open and its no secret that the BullGator mega donors didn't want a black coach with a white wife. He ended up doing even better....good for him!

Glad that we won't have to deal with him next year in the ACC.

The Cotton Bowl is setting up to be an exciting finish. It's tied 24-24, with almost 10 minutes left. I don't know what you all are discussing...

Texas: Bobby Burton of 247 Sports reports that Charlie Strong will be the next head coach at Texas. Chip Brown of OrangeBloods.com also reports that Strong has indicated he will accept the job. Jeremy Fowler of CBS Sports reports Strong has not told his staff. ESPN's Brett McMurphy reports Strong wants to talk with Louisville administration. CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman says Texas has not made a decision.

Yep, they just tweeted it out. 5 years, 5 mil, Strong talked to the AD and prez and told them.

He will own fools with all of the Texas power.

Down goes Ohio St. what a wasted year for them. Meyer might start getting his famous restless leg syndrome soon

Clemson beats OSU in a fun Orange Bowl.

Tip of the hat to fellow ACC mates Clemson, I'm glad they beat OSU and Meyer. Dabo is a class guy and I'm happy for him and Inferno.

Ohio State loses. Urban will have "heart problems" again and bail that program.

Glad with both results. But, seriously, kind of sick of the general "S-E-C! S-E-C!" fans on my Facebook and Twitter feed. Pride in your team playing the top conference and generally pulling for it to have a good showing? Sure, I get that.

But I have Arkansas fans bragging about SEC vs Big 12 bowl records this year? When their team won three (cupcake non-con) games all year? It's like Detroit Lion fans bragging about that 13 year NFC Super Bowl streak or something. Or the Raiders being proud that Denver, KC and SD all made the playoffs. Just weird.

Thanks, good sir. Should have won by multiple scores if not for Tahj trying to piss it down his leg and the blatantly biased officiating. Braxton Miller should slip Matt Millern a twenty spot for all the fellating he did.

I don't know many fans of SEC teams that aren't like that. It's why it was so awesome watching Alabama lose.
