Once the SEC Network comes in 2014 that's at least 25-30 mil per year.
You severely overrate Texas and Oil money.
Bama already generates a **** load of money, plus he has several endorsement deals that the university helped broker that makes him even more money than his initial salary.

Saban is next to God only in Bama right now. Even after the epic FG **** up.
He already is a legend in his own right.
If Texas offered 15 mil a year Bama could match. There is nothing that Texas could offer that Bama couldn't match. Bama's pockets are deep.
It isn't a matter of "can" it is a matter of "will". Smart is the heir apparent so they can let him go if they wish to and promote Smart to HC.
But why let him go when he makes them a ton of money.

Deone Buchannon is someone I wouldn't mind seeing the Broncos take a shot at.

Muschamp needs to be on the horn to Helton as soon as this bowl ends. He needs to have him on the first thing smokin', movin' or flyin' to Gainesville.

Definitely needs to be on the watch list. Really want Easley if he falls in the first.

O'Brien negotiated his buyout last summer from like 19m down to about 7m and now he has approached PSU about lowering it further should he go to an NFL team. Seems like he really wants to go back to the league.

This will have a huge ripple effect on us. Golden will go to Penn St. That has always been his dream, as he played there.

Goodbye, Al.

Dude had a ton of promise. Telegenic, brilliant in front of a camera and with all things PR related and a terrific recruiter. A little limited as a game day coach and too loyal to certain assistants, but overall a huge stud. Will be sad to lose him.

Michigan will start freshman quarterback Shane Morris in place of Devin Gardner in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl against Kansas State on Saturday, coach Brady Hoke announced Thursday.

Gardner, a redshirt junior, remains sidelined by a turf toe injury.

I'd like to see Minnesota beat Syracuse.

I'm surprised Syracuse is leading, although the Golden Gophers scored a few minutes ago.

Syracuse leads 14-9 with almost a quarter left to play.

I'm not sure....I turned on the game at the end of the 3rd quarter, as I forgot the game was on.

Isn't PSU top target supposed to be between James Franklin & Mike Munchak(if he gets fired by the Titans)

I expect Miami to lose an entertaining game tomorrow against Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Our third leading WR, Herb Waters, is out, and our leading receiver, Allen Hurns was in a walking boot today. Allegedly that's precautionary and he supposedly practiced all week, but I haven't seen too many guys play and play well in a game one day after wearing a walking boot. Coley, Dorsett, Lewis and Scott will have to play well. TEs Walford and Sandland will need to play well. UL has a very good defense with alot of South Florida kids. I don't think we can run the ball on them without the Duke. Coley will burn Louisville's DBs a few times, it will be up to Morris to take advantage. I expect to see a little more of Eduardo Clements running the ball with some Gus Edwards. Dallas Crawford is more of a third down back. Morris has to be really sharp against this D or he will get picked off several times.

Defensively, we have to get pressure on Bridgewater. He will carve up our zones. There is no other way. We play a bend but don't break 3-4 zone defense, predicated on making the offense go 10 yards at a time and avoid mistakes, drops and penalties. We have had tough times holding people under 500 yards. There are really only 2 decent pass rushers on the team and both are undersized. This is a tough matchup for Miami. I know Louisvilles OL is banged up and Michael Dyer is out, but I think it will be difficult holding them under 30. I expect UL to finish somewhere in the mid 30s.

SoCal's prediction: Louisville 34, Miami 27

They are interested, but I know Golden will be at the top of their list as well.

Doesn't his contract run til 2020 now though? He's basically got a fully guaranteed contract for 4 years so he might choose that over PSU.
From one sanctioned school to another has to be less appealing even if it is PSU.

Penn St. is his dream job and its about to come open. I'd be shocked if he doesn't take it, regardless of money, guaranteed contracts etc. Dude is a Penn St. guy thru and thru. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Penn St. even though they have 2 more bowl bans coming up and we are finally free and clear and putting together a monster class....he is that much of a PSU guy.

It will crush me to lose him, because he's a real up and comer. While he isn't the greatest game day coach, he is brilliant at recruiting, building relationships with local HS coaches (at important feeder schools), and all things PR related. Also a very good CEO and runs a great strength and conditioning program. IMO, he is one of the 5 best recruiters in the country, so long as he has strong coordinators, he will have a powerhouse program no matter where he goes.

Defense doing well so far considering no pass rush.

Offense needs to do some work. Stop trying to run the ball. It isn't going to happen.

Louisville 6 Miami 2

A little under 3 hours until Michigan kicks off.

I don't mind the 10:15 pm Eastern Time kickoff, as I'll stay up and watch it, but a good portion of Michigan's potential viewing audience will have taken their Metamucil and gone to bed by the time the game kicks off.
