Do you think there is any need to be weary about a later change in their policies (back to their original always connected/no used game policies) after they sell their first 10 Million consoles or so?

That article basically states that Microsoft is not as confident in their hardware as they thought, but kudos to them for realizing what they paraded out at E3 was horse****. But microsoft being microsoft, I really doubt they drop the $500 price tag anytime soon.

I seriously doubt that happens. Though it doesn't really matter to me. I'm not buying an Xbox One until they remove that piece of garbage called the Kinect and drop the price down a hundred bucks.

Ok Microsoft good job fixing some of the issues. Now bring that price down to PS4 numbers and you will really be competing.

I'm pretty sure the Kinect 2.0 is too expensive to produce for them to drop the price down to PS4 levels, and for whatever reason they are dead set on having that piece of junk included with every console they sell.

If Microsoft went back on their policies after launch, they'd lose everything they ever worked for and no one would buy their product again. I would also expect it to devastate them as a company, because a move like that is just shady bad business.

I would also bet there would be legal ramifications.

Why are you addressing me with this post?

I do agree with you though. I seriously doubt they would make a move like that. Consumer trust is a premium commodity in the business world.

It's their fault for beginning the Kinect brand with the last generation. They should have thought longer about what a subpar product / games offering would do for the brand.

I suspect Kinect 2.0 will be a very different experience that's much more aligned with their original vision.

Still not buying the 180. F em. You can't expect to put out suck and then just act like it never happened. What they proposed was ludicrous, made evident by having to admit their entire console's features sucked and pull them 6 months before release. Maybe they'll get rid of the ad-ran XBL despite it costing 60$/year while they're at it.

The thing is, I don't care about their original vision. I simply don't want any part of the Kinect, and I sure as **** am not going to pay $100 more for it.

FYI, Marc Witten (the Ms exec who discussed this with the gaming press today) has refused to say they won't bring it back at a latter date.

So many heads stuck up their own asses in Redmond.

"build from the ground up" my ass.

I mean, I get that everyone is a liar, but it's not often you get to see them admit it.

Anyone thinking Microsoft was completely off base when creating the One, is wrong.

You're new if you think a company would make that kind of move. Microsoft is smarter than you.

Everyone is b****ing now because they're getting what "they" wanted.

Closed minded ideas like this are closed minded.

I'm sure you also think DRM is a terrible idea for media? Spotify, Itunes, Amazon, Netflix? HORRIBLE. Those ****ty companies making media easily and affordably accessible? Damn them!

But they proposed. Sony simply waited for Microsoft to state something and played off of consumer response. They would have done the same d@mn thing if people were not bent out of shape about it.
