They lied about the emails, what happened is they didn't,for some reason, expect the white house to call their bluff & release the full emails.

Long story short, the administration withheld the emails themselves, only allowing people to take summary notes. Then somebody erroneously quoted them. And it basically didn't change anything critically material to what the actual emails said.

Anyway, the biggest question has yet to be answered... why do none of these emails mention the youtube video? Even though the administration told us all that the youtube scapegoat was based on the "best intelligence available" at the time? At what point did the video get introduced as the catalyst? Who introduced that?

Why doesn't anyone in this administration know who did anything?

What materially changed? And where's the Innocence of the Muslims reference? The administration beat that drum for weeks. Yet in these emails its not even alluded to. Why?

It seems we didn't know the whole story about what the White House knew when about the Internal Revenue Service's improper targeting of conservatives. And neither did the White House spokesman.
White House press secretary Jay Carney revealed during Monday's briefing that in addition to White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler, White House chief of staff Denis McDonough "and other members of the senior staff" were made aware of the Treasury inspector general's report on the IRS before its release and the president was not.
So basically everyone in the White House knew, but the President had to find out about it on the Evening News.

And apparently he's a-ok with that?

Something smells.

Ruemmler did not receive a draft of the report but was informed of its contents on April 24, and she informed McDonough and other staff—whom Carney declined to identify. The information was not shared with President Barack Obama, who says he first learned of the IRS conduct from news reports on May 10.
Uh huh

"said nothing" other than directly asking IRS officials about it during committee testimony. Which they flat out denied.

HA HA! Right now I bet tons of white house employees are going through emails, reading memos and breifing notes to see how bad it could get. The sound of paper shredding and email deletes probably filling the halls. Let me guess though Obama out playing golf? he doesn't care. The plan worked keep money from Romney and the repubs by denying the non profits there tax exempt status through delays. I have to hand it to the dems they know how to play some dirty politics. And here we though only the repubs knew those tricks.

Yeah but we didnt send the people who knew to that ya know? The whole thing is covered up with confusion. The Obama admin great at making people have no idea who did what. Then they will sit there and say nothing to see.

There will be some more hearing and if it continues then repubs will start calling for a special investigator. I know who i would pick. Or is the special counsel just a div of the justice dept and would be led by whoever is in charge of that? How does that work?

I'm no fan of Obama's, but he had nothing to do with this.

But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes of e-mails that could not be kept. The fact that slightly different versions of the e-mails were reported by different journalists suggests there were different note-takers as well.

The burden of proof lies with the accuser. Despite Pfeiffer’s claim of political skullduggery, we see little evidence that much was at play here besides imprecise wordsmithing or editing errors by journalists.
Why is the White House working so hard to manufacture stories?

I'm starting to agree, I think the IRS and other federal agencies realize they can run wild behind his back. If they can just keep the dirty deeds from being on TV .................

At this point it has to be either careful orchestration or willful ignorance.

I'm not sure letting the government do whatever it feels like just for the sake of plausible deniability is all that much better than just orchestrating the wrongdoing yourself.

Especially coming from guys who usually heckle citizens who tend to view their government with suspicion.

Like I said it's not just the IRS that's out of control it's all Federal agencies, like the General Services Administration (GSA) running wild in Las Vegas on the tax payer’s dime. Why not go crazy, all Obama will do is threaten to launch an investigation and nothing will change.

And Obama started all of these agencies, right? They're all new since 2008? Or did they just all become "out of control" since 2008?

Let's put it this way: The Right Wingers in Congress have brought up a vote to ditch Obamacare almost forty times, and they've been soundly defeated every time. Reality is not their strong suit.
