Default Bad news again righties

spin away...

The nation's unemployment rate fell below 6% in September for the first time in six years.

The rate came in at 5.9%, while employers added 248,000 jobs last month.

The unemployment rate fell last month because more people were getting jobs, not because they were dropping out of the labor force as they have at times during the economic recovery. The share of people in the workforce was essentially unchanged.

Jobs growth was strong in professional and business services, particularly in employment services and consulting. The retail and health care sectors, which have been a powerhouse throughout the recovery, also gained. Construction added 16,000 jobs.

The bad news is that wages are flat and underemployment is the new enemy. People get jobs but they pay crap and don't give 40 hours of work. Go ahead and celebrate your cooked up numbers though. We will see how much that helps the Senate races in November.

The way the USA calculates unemployment if you wait long enough the number always goes down. It stops counting people eventually lol.

Also in politics there is always an angle to argue. Obama said he needed another stimulus, repubs fought it, and the economy improved on the news.

So you support raising minimum wage and/or unionization.

Sure thing Sherlock! I'd like to see you try to hire someone in Colorado without offering wages 1.3 to 1.5 times what they were 2 years ago. Even offering that with full benefits will get you the bottom of the barrel..

The numbers don't say that but I'm sure some states fairing better then others. Good for you that bottom of the barrel doing well.

So before you were complaining that there weren't enough jobs and it's Obama's fault.

Now unemployment has shown a credible decline, so you're complaining that the jobs don't pay enough and it's Obama's fault.

What will you complain about (and blame Obama for) when incomes start to rise?

Giving some people a raise will come at the expense of others. It's simple math. If labor costs don't matter then why stop there? Let's raise it to $30 an hour. Bigger paychecks for everybody.

Ah yes, the popular conservative strawman: "Why not make it a million dollars an hour?"

The repuklicans would rather have the min. wage so low that in order to survive those working service jobs have to apply for assistance which in turn give the repuklicans another reason to b**** and moan. Silly little bastards.

A decent wage for flipping burgers

That's a high school job. When you get some experience and better work skills you'll make a decent wage.

Which by the way will be stagnant. Getting promoted into a better paying job is different than getting a 1.5% increase while the CEO get a 25 % increase. Lets be clear about who's wages are stagnant and why.

I keep rereading this and wonder if you realize you missed the point of the issue entirely.
