Default Dave Costa dies

Just saw this tweet:

@ProFootballTalk: Broncos announce former AFL All-Star Dave Costa has died wp.me/p14QSB-90B6

I remember Costa most for his hit on Joe Namath (shown in my avatar) in the Broncos 1969 upset of the defending super bowl champ Jets. He and Rich Jackson generated quite the pass rush. Also Costa didn't like John Ralston's rah rah approach in training camp and he was soon off the team in 1972.

RIP Dave.

Yep, he was quite the effort man and a team leader.

I remember my mom was always yelling his name when we went to the U of Utah games. That's how I remember him. I hated he went to the Raiders. I didn't become a Bronco fan till 1970 but even then I hated the Raiders. He was gone from the Broncos by the time I became a fan.

I remember that hit (from the radio broadcast). It was a thrilling moment.

RIP Mr. Costa.
