That's exactly what I'm hoping for. Remember, this guy beat out Moore during their rookie campaigns. I just hope Carter took everything seriously and did the most of what he was able to as a guy on IR. Film room, etc. Carter had an INT in both playoff games during the Year of the Tebow.

We need to replace both starting safeties.

Seriously, who?

Unless we're tossing Mike Adams this is pointless thought.

Also, Woodson won a Super Bowl in Green Bay. It's not like he needs to play again, let alone for a contender. The champion box is checked.
You just answered your own question.

This smells of Foneco as Baja cant figure out what old woodson he wants to sign, the one older then Baja or the older then champ Bailey by a few years.

I heard on one of the ESPN talk shows that this person heard from some team officials that judging by game film Woodson is done. He had a horrible year.

I would be more anxious in tweaking it after training camp cuts.

I think with Manning that Elway's target is to win one now or at least in the next 2 years and he's not afraid of bringing in a quality player with high mileage. Iím sure he remembers what Neil Smith brought to the table.

If there was an impact player to help win now we'd have signed Karlos Dansby already rather than leaving it up to a bunch of unknowns. Dude is a team captain. A leader. A damn good LB and an MLB to boot. Just what we need.

I'm all for Nate Irving getting his shot, but in the win now mode, I'd take a stud like Dansby. They must really see something in Nate or Johnson to be avoiding this.

Shaun Phillips says hi.

I guess you could argue the quality player part....but if motivated to win and get in shape (he will need to, playing at 5280), I think he can be that Neil Smith type player.

An emerging Wolfe...a motivated Phillips...a lunch pail rook...reasonable role players...and a Ayers in his prime. All coached by JDR. I am expecting big things from this line.

We are so close to FINALLY having the most important part of a defense be a strength again.

I read he is no longer the sideline to sideline LBer that he was.

Irving/Johnson/Bradley will be fine.

Bradley earned himself a big FA contract at MLB. Of course the Cardinals move him from a 4-3 to a 3-4 that he never caught on to. So he might be the guy that steps up and takes the job from Training Camp on.

I thought this might be a good plan for the broncos. Nice to read they are considering it.

I love that half the people here who say no are the same people who say "we can't cover TE".

For people we "can't develop going talent behind old vets", Aaron Rogers says Hi!

I say sure, if he comes cheap enough. We already have a SB team. As long as Rahim the Dream gets the boot, I'm okay wid it.

Sure. Woodson has made a lot of plays in his career. He necessarily wouldn't have to play safety for us either. He is a good reserve defensive back. Half of his picks the past couple years have come from nickel anyways. If he doesn't make it through camp, so what. Let some young bucks learn from him. We really can't lose here.

I'd agree but for the fact that the Broncos are in a win-now mode because of Manning's age and contract. The Broncos aren't doing a complete secondary roster purging, they are considering a HoF CB who can come in and shore up an area of need on the defense. It's not like the Broncos are a real old team. Outside of Manning and Champ and a couple other players, it's a relatively young team. There's a good mix of young guys and older vets.

Moore was terrific for 99.9% of last season. Unfortunately, one play is (incorrectly) defining the year he had.

Adams is the guy Woodson would replace and rightfully so.
