Its funny that Ive never even considered Phillips. Like the signing. Hes younger than Freeney and Abraham. Is still very productive. My question is how much did we sign him for. Im guessing 2 year deal worth 5 million.

Good signing, he's not an every down DE at this stage in his career but is still a very good pass rusher and will be a solid compliment to Von and the other guys we have. Wanted Denver to go after him right from the start of the Dumervil fiasco.

Better value than Freeney. Now just get the backer.

Milk a year or two out of him at decent value. Good veteran signing when you're in a win now mode. He can still probably get you 8-10 sacks in JDR's defense.

This is good, he is good fill in too while Quanterius gets fully healed up and regains all his speed and learns the NFL game... then QS can take over or let the best man will hold the reins with the other a good rotation backup ... Now, with Q Smith along with Phillips, Ayers, Malik and Wolfe we have DEs of every shape and size we need.

Either the FO is fully confident in getting solid MiddleBacker play from Erving, Johnson, Bradley this year or we are gonna bring in Dansby or Urlacher in a surprise move.

Riddick is nice and all but is he really any better than Erving?? A key to consistent winning football teams is taking full advantage of teh players already on your roster and not getting blinded by the seeming eye candy and names in each new draft.

IRving was what a third rounder for us?? Time to get the production out of him we have already invested in him and the coaches seem to think he is ready to shine....

Love the Shaun Pillips signing. Bottom lline, he wanted to play here. His agent has been knocking on the Broncos door for weeks.

this is surprising given his history w/ Denver. I like the signing, but it's going to feel weird rooting for him all of a sudden.

One year, three million. I'll take it.

Our front seven is a lot better after this weekend.

It felt weird rooting for Neil Smith at first, but I got used to it.

It’s no surprise the Chargers are prepared to part with long-time outside linebacker Phillips. The most familiar face on their defense, Phillips’ play fell off a cliff this year as he managed just 39 quarterback disruptions on 403 pass rushes. Couple that with some horrible run defense and you’ve got our second-lowest ranked outside linebacker on the year.

Last year he had no Von Miller on the other side bringing the heat ... Give Quanterius time to heal and then they can play tag team rush from the right while Wolfe and Von lock down the left side.. This can work and he could be a good two to three year player for us.

Plus he knows all of Phillis' weaknesses ( so do the rest of the Broncos for that matter)
Did you forget Sly up the middle. We will have a sick good D line coached up by JDR I likey

I'm a Purdue grad and have watched Phillips for a long time (Boiler UP!). He has always had the ability to be truly spectacular, and when focused and not angry at management he's been quite special. If he's fully matured and ready to do what it takes to win a SB we just got a big time playmaker.

As a 3rd down pass rush specialist? How could you not like it? Cheap and knows the AFC West very well.

He has the help of having Von on the other side too.

Not to mention JDR will fine a way to use his strengths.

Yeah he can't really start anymore IMO. Only play on some 3rd downs.

The rated Doom really low also so I guess its a wash at worst. They said he only had 14 good run plays all yr.
