it's pretty clear by now that Elway and Fox only have people who produced in college on their boards. so a bunch of the people you guys wanted probably weren't even on their radar. who knows, I don't know **** all about the draft.

Hillman and Ball have diff skill sets. I assume this is writing on the wall for McGahee and Moreno. People here were screaming for Leveon Bell and now are acting shocked when we take a running back.

I think you guys need to go read up on this kid. He's been rising quickly. He worked out for like a dozen teams....rand in the 4.3's and is a tackling machine.

Oh....whose his favorite NFL player? Champ Bailey!

He patterns himself after Bailey. Has long arms and runs a 4.3.........terrible pick? It's the 3rd round...seems like a boom or bust. Frankly...I thought it was a good pick!

Settle down boys, looks like he might have what it takes to be a solid corner. I love it when the sky alwasy falls around this time each year.

At least take the time to get to know what we have here. I doubt Elway and Fox were just throwing darts here.

Its the knid of name Belicheck and Ossie have made their reps on taking players their fan base would have a mental blow out over thinking the world had just come to an end only to find time and again a diamond in the rough.

I dont know much about him either at this point, but he looks like a possible real player too, so before anyone starts slitting their wrists, why not take a step back and a deep breath and remind yourselves how often the big names everyone is always swooning over in the first three rounds of each draft wind up being cannon fodder by year three.

WE got two good ones in rounds one and two. For all we know this kid might turn out to be Champs replacement... I doubt it but this FO has earned the benefit of the doubt on these defensive picks in particular until proven they made a mistake.

If all they do is pick the easy names left, then any snot nosed arm chair prognosticator like Matt Miller working for 'Bleacher Report' who must have the record for most blown calls in the history of the internet could do their job!

At least lets take some time to hear what they say about this kid and watch some tape on him before marching on Dove Valley with pitch forks here.

Dude, just stop it. No one here has heard of him, which supersedes the people in the organization who actually HAVE heard of him, and have studied and scouted him. I'm not sure why the Broncos don't fire their entire scouting dept, and just log on here on draft night to see who they should select.

For the guy to be taken this high there has to be an explanation. My guess is that there was buzz about the kid among scouts and the media guys simply didn't get the memo. I have a really hard time believing the Broncos draft a guy in the 3rd unless they felt other teams were also interested. It's an explanation that makes a lot more sense than "Elway and Fox don't have a clue".

This is very interesting:

http://www.milehighreport.com/2013/2...couting-report

Another snippet from an additional article shines a little light on what the Broncos may see in Kayvon.

Webster has a high regard for Champ Bailey and his press coverage skills. He worked with former USF cornerback and current Dallas Cowboy Mike Jenkins during the summer of 2011.

Jenkins provided helpful tips on reading a quarterback's drop steps, focusing on the direction of a quarterback's shoulders and anticipating a receiver's break.

Beside Bailey, Webster also tries to emulate Darrelle Revis and Janoris Jenkins. Though the Rams' rookie doesn't possess top-end 4.3 speed Jenkins still exudes confidence on the field at all times, Webster said. Like Revis, Webster eventually hopes to put fear in receivers with suffocating coverage.

This sounds like a young man that will give the effort to succeed, because he will come from the underdog role. Nothing will be given, he will have to act like Brian Dawkins and Take It!

The New York Jets and the Houston Texans also met with Kayvon during the East-West Shrine game week.

Webster has already confirmed that he will be attending the NFL Combine and has signed with Carlos Rodriguez and Manny Vadillo of Majestic Agents & Consultants (MAC) as his Agent.

I like (not so much love) the Sly and Ball pick, but I don't know about this one! I thought we were going to get a DE or at least a safety.
