If the Broncos had not drafted Ball, the packers would have taken Ball. The Pack ended up with Lacy but even the Pack are worried about his toe. There's one thing that Ball does much better than Bell IMHO, and that is protect the ball. It will be interesting to see which of these 3 RBs has the best career. If Lacy is hampered by his toe, he may not last long in the NFL. As for Bell, he seems like a great fit for the steelers and the same with Ball and Denver.

I'm just glad the Chiefs didn't have a high pick in that draft.

And if so, people here would be praising Elway for it and trashing Miller as a pass rush specialist.

That is true but Miller wasn't a slam dunk pick at the time.

What they're saying is that it was nearly impossible to miss with that pick.

AJ Green, Peterson, JJ Watt, Aldon Smith, Julio Jones, etc. The entire top of that draft (non QB) were homeruns.

It is hilariously awesome that Alex Smith will ensure that they will be a 6-10ish (give or take a game) team for the foreseeable future. He's good enough to improve them to mediocrity and a 13-20 draft spot, but not enough to make them a playoff team.

hard to miss of Von Miller? most here didn't want him because we didn't run a 3-4 and swore he couldn't play LB. that we should have taken Dareus or Peterson.

that hard to miss on guy? that Elway took a ton of flack for picking as a bad scheme fit, undersized flash in the pan, one trick pony? that Von Miller?

I'm still shocked the Eagles passed on Geno and went for Barkley. There's an article on grantland (below) suggesting that based on their moves (signing a TE and drafting another with an early 2nd, taking Barkley over Geno, etc.) they're going to install a Patriots style offense instead of a Chip Kelly/Oregon offense.

It's not like it was apples to apples. They passed on Geno in the second... and passed on Barkley in the 2nd... and again in the 3rd.

...that being said, I like Barkley much better. And yes, Chip knew he needed a real OC to expand his playbook and they'll be running a mod'd WCO, which Barkley should excel in since he's a cerebral, timing and touch player.

Just read the article you linked, Tony... what a pile of ****.

Instead of reading WAY into drafting a TE in the second and claiming they'll be playing like the Patriots, they could just look at the OC and his coaching history and actually write a legitimate article.

Well, he did mention Shurmur. And they not only drafted Zach Ertz but already had Brent Celek and signed James Casey in FA. Their offense could be interesting. But at a glance their defense is a hot mess.

i think it will be closer to Indy's offense with Manning than the Pats.

It appears to me that Chip Kelly doesn't know what he's doing and his ego is already getting in the way of the team.

Or, more likely, he wanted to go because he believed he was the man and thought he was going to get picked in the top 5 and is bitter and wants to blame others for his poor circumstances. Imagine what he is like in the huddle whens someone misses a block or a receiver runs the wrong route?
