Default Help..

hey ,a long shot but my wife is trying to find her mum, details are very sketchy I know but feel free to pass this around the USA in a feint hope someone can help.
thanks
shaun and jan

I would love to find my mother Anita miller. She is American with two brothers and a sister. Her mum was American and her father was thought to be Irish. She had me on 16.06.1964 in Edmonton London at north Middlesex hospital but I was born with a heart condition. She was told I probably wouldn't survive...but here I am 48 years later. If you know her then please share and help me find my mum . Thanks

Sounds like it'll be pretty tough to locate her since she has/had one of those fairly common surnames. Best of luck.

Did she bail on you after the diagnosis?

Mother's age and even DOB are commonly included in most U.S. birth certificates ... can you find any extra info like that? Anything at all might help ... her place of birth, college or high school, anything.

Ok ... hey, aside from the identity crisis, how's married life? I recall a rather spirited thread in here when you announced your engagement.

I'm not sure of UK birth certificates, but US ones have the mother's age. She could have lied, though, since she was overseas it would have been much more difficult to confirm - or even care to confirm- her age. Shoot, the name could be fake too...

I'd try contacting a private investigator. They have some skip tracing tools and might be able to get access to information otherwise not readily available. They can also give you an honest idea how likely it is that they would find this person.

Speaking of that, is Miller a maiden or surname?

My advice is first go to the hospital, and then to county to make certain you have every possible record and document. Did they have a business license, driver license, buy a house, window washer insurance?

Interesting to note ... Middlesex was a separate town and county until London annexed it in 1965 ... yer lass was nary a wee sprog. These kinds of records might be elsewhere, other than whatever main London annex you might have accessed.

Definitely try the office records of physicians who treated her heart condition, they should be separate from hospital records. Often they request fairly detailed family histories ... helps them diagnose and treat. And it's a longshot, but this is a women's networking group in Middlesex. Chicks dig helping other chicks they've never met here, probably there too.

perhaps do a name search on a social network site like facebook? It's a long shot but who knows, it may be a way to get the ball rolling.

Do you happen to have any of the other names? Things like Obits are good about helping to narrow down the right one when you're dealing with a common name.

In today's social media world/technology finding someone is not as difficult as it used to be. Good luck in your search.

Ancestry.com

Seriously, you can find some amazing stuff on there. With a name, birth year, and town you'd be surprised how much can be found just with census data. You can also access family tree's that other people are working on so its likely she is in one, but it'll take some digging. My $.02
