Default Offseason Cap Game Thread

I realize this is about two months too early since we are clearly going to be still celebrating our Super Bowl, however this is a pretty cool website that lets you be the GM by signing, extending, and cutting Broncos to fit under the cap.

Year Total Liabilities Salary Cap Cap Room
2014 $119,366,762 $133,485,990 $14,119,228

Here is sort of how I see it playing out:

Offense (Highlighted are unrestricted free agents)

Player Action
Zac Dysert QB Keep
Peyton Manning Keep
Brock Osweiler Keep
C.J. Anderson Keep
Montee Ball RB Keep
Ronnie Hillman Cut
Knowshon Moreno Re-sign
Andre Caldwell Allow to leave-replace in draft
Eric Decker Re-sign
Trindon Holliday Keep (If restricted and gets offer let go)
Demaryius Thomas Keep
Wes Welker WR Keep
Joel Dreessen Cut
Virgil Green Keep
Jacob Tamme Keep
Julius Thomas Extend - to valuable not to lock up
Dan Koppen Cut - Draft a replacement (Richburg)
Manny Ramirez Keep
Steve Vallos Keep
Zane Beadles Keep
Chris Kuper Allow to leave - Backup, often injured
Louis Vasquez Keep
Ryan Clady Keep
Chris Clark Keep
Orlando Franklin Keep
Winston Justice Allow to leave

Cap Savings: $7,047,122

Robert Ayers Re-sign
Malik Jackson Keep
Shaun Phillips Re-sign
Quanterus Smith Keep
Derek Wolfe Keep
Sione Fua Keep
Terrance Knighton Keep
Mitch Unrein Keep
Kevin Vickerson Keep
Sylvester Williams Keep
Jeremy Mincey Allow to leave
Stewart Bradley Cut
Nate Irving Keep
Steven Johnson Keep
Paris Lenon Allow to leave
Brandon Marshall Cut
Lerentee McCray Keep
Von Miller Keep
Danny Trevathan Keep
Wesley Woodyard Allow to leave
Champ Bailey Cut or restructure - simply not worth 10 mill
Tony Carter Keep
Chris Harris Re-sign
Quentin Jammer Allow to leave
DRC Re-sign
Kayvon Webster Keep
Mike Adams Re-sign
Omar Bolden Cut
David Bruton Keep
Quinton Carter Keep
Michael Huff Allow to leave
Duke Ihenacho Keep
Rahim Moore Keep

Only 2 Broncos on defense are not free agents of some kind that I am getting rid of, Bolden and Bailey. I know people will flame me for Bailey but he is not worth the money we are paying him, he needs to take a pay cut or we cut him.

Money Saved: $10 +

Total Cap Space
$31, 617,743

Re-sign (priority)
1. DRC - Legit #1 CB
2. Harris - Great Slot CB
3. Decker - Great Numbers .. how much is Manning?
4. Moreno - Great season but Ball can carry the load I think
5. Phillips - Great compliment to Miller
6. Beadles - Solid
7. Ayers - Solid until hurt

1. MLB - Replace Woodyard. Dangerous cause a rookie makes the calls, move up if you have to.
2. CB - You can never have to many CB's plus Champ is gone
3. DE - We need pressure (sign Jared Allen could change this)
4. CB - CB's are worth their weight in gold these days
5. C - Fellow Ram Weston Richburg is our C for the next 10 years
6 - 12. Best Available
