Net: background checks must be performed for private and online sales, and high-capacity clips are now banned. This comes on the heels of the CO Dept. of Corrections Chief being killed in his home.
Congratulations to the people of Colorado. Your leaders have shown true courage. Much more than the gutless idiots in Washington.

How so? This stuff may give you a warm fuzzy but it does nothing to curb any violence. The same whackos are going to do the same whacky stuff. Knocking the mag limit down to 15 will do nothing but push industry out of a state that continues to spiral down a liberal toilet. So where do all the grandfathered 30 rounders go? what a joke..

Yeah, way to go. Those should come in handy when the Reds invade.

I'm heavily armed cause it was a right I was born into, I probably won't ever use them unless a (most likely) Obama voter decides he wants something in my house that doesn't belong to him.

There actually is a solution to this. Keep the guns, but lower the inequality in our society.

No a clip loads ammo into a magazine. A gun can fire with no clip as its only a way to load the magazine. A magazine can be detachable or internal and loaded by hand or in some cases with a clip.

Sorry i just went shooting with a couple of 20-21 yr old kids from next door that are now Army Rangers and are back visiting their folks. They gave me the whole run down. I asked them if i was a p***Y because I just like other people to fight in the wars, and they said yes but that i could make it up to them by buying them beer. So basically i am good now.

Bacchus, should I start posting pictures of victims of car accidents and make a thread about banning cars?

Or perhaps sink hole victims and start a petition to ban the earth?

I think gun control is stupid but the banning cars argument is silly. If you want to use automobiles as an argument you would say this.

The govt wants to legislate guns because they think it will make us safer. Saving lives is worth it and we don't need guns on a day to day basis to go about our business. But we have a right to them and to defend ourselves. So they argue you can have guns, but certain ones you don't need. Or certain ones you can only have so much ammo in at a time.

So if you wanted to make an argument using cars i would say that automobiles are needed on a day to day basis so you can't ban them. But you could say that there is no reason for cars that can go twice the speed limit. Seriously there is more use for a gun then a car that does 150 like a corvette. Also we could save lives by limiting how fast people drive even more. Maybe a 50 MPH max speed. It will save fuel, cool the earth, and less high speed collisions save lives. You will still get where you are going just at most a bit later.

Seriously though with max speed limits being even in rural areas in boondock states what? 75? 80? lol. I think we should say no cars should be able to do over 80 mph.

What else can we do to be safer. Batter up!

Afterall...more people are killed by automobiles than guns. And given that a car in the hands of a drunk person is a 3,000lb missle that can wipe out an entire family we need to know if these "weapons" are being purchased by people who have less than stellar driving records or have outstanding tickets, previous DUI arrests/convictions, no history of mental illness, etc....

The fact that none of the laws passed will prevent ANY crimes is never mentioned when these laws are passed.
Don't you have to be licensed and approved and insured to drive a car? Oh right, you do.

Whoops. Looks like that "BUT WHUTTABOUT THEIR CARRRRRS?" argument is just as stupid today as it was the last time some moron brought it up.

While I agree it's somewhat of a poor point for sure, people still drive without licenses and insurance.

Where there's a will, there's a way.
