I'd be happy with either back, but for different reasons. I like Lattimore better as a long term prospect because I think his ceiling is higher, but we need a kid that can serve as a short-yardage powerback quickly and as the season progresses because a featured RB. Bell is that guy.

no way. there is no way he gets chosen in the 1st round. Lacey and Ball will surely go before him. Maybe 1-2 more too. I can't see how this year 3-4 rbs are taken in the 1st round. I think he has really solidified his value as a mid 2nd round pick. But no way do you touch him in the first.

as for Lattimore (depending on what his knee looks like) I could see him being taken in the back of the 2nd round.

I've heard reports that suggest Marcus Lattimore shouldn't be counted on for the 2013 season....teams looking at him should be looking at him for 2014 and beyond.

As for Le'Veon Bell....if he was sitting there at the end of the 2nd round, I'd be all for Denver drafting him.

im all for Bell, best back in this draft??

I really think this draft is pick your flavor kind of draft as far as RB position goes. Bernard will be good, Bell will be good, Lacy will be good, Latt will be good one day.. and then a bunch of guys who can contribute right away

I think Elway has shown he isn't into the "hype," and I think he would strongly reject the notion that Bell is a first round back. He might end up being sensational, but you still have to draft on proven record and potential.

He had one monster year, and that just shouldn't be enough for first round consideration. Our second round pick however, is almost a third rounder. I see him going (fairly) in the top half of the third round. If you want him bad enough, the second round pick is probably the way to go.

Once again, I love Bell and hope we get him, but we always seem to fall in love with players like this and watch them drop round after round in the draft. If he is there in the third (and we pass on him), half of us will be screaming at our computers and throwing stuff around the room, but that's the way it goes.

But he will go before Bell on college production alone. I bet he is the 2nd or 3rd running back taken. You just can't ignore his production going all the way back to high school.

Not after Ball's combine and concussion history.

I'm still sorting out the RBs, but right now I have them like this:

1. Eddie Lacy - Denver 1st Round
2. Giovani Bernard - Cincinnati 2nd Round
3. Le'Veon Bell - Pittsburgh 2nd Round
4. Montee Ball - NY Jets 3rd Round
5. Jonathan Franklin - San Diego 3rd Round
6. Andre Ellington - Atlanta 3rd Round

I stop at 3 Rounds until Comp picks get announced.

Can't argue this at all. The kids we're discussing are the best in this class.

The BEST backs I saw last year were both freshmen!
If they stay healthy and keep THEIR NOSES clean one or both could be Heisman winners. Well worth watching in any case. Yeldin and Matt Jones.

I kind of hope you're right about Lacy coming to the Broncs! He would really improve our rb corps.

As for the comp picks, when is the league scheduled to make the announcements on these? Do you know?

Lacy is overrated, a creation of the Alabama OL just like Mark Ingram. I hope you're wrong.

Doesn't mean the speed or agility will ever return, or that his knee will suddenly now be able to hold up in the NFL again.

If the medical staff feel good about him I'd jump at the end of round 2. If they're at all doubtful I wouldn't touch him.

I don't think Alabama has a better OL then the Saints. They just run the ball more. Reggie Bush has more yards rushing in two seasons at Miami then he did in five seasons with the Saints.

first off, Bell can't sniff Lacy's jock. but aside from that outrageous claim as him as the top RB in the draft. he has other warts to his game that put him behind Lacy,Bernard,Franklin & Ellington.

he doesn't provide anything other than being a RB. which isn't a bad thing but why spend a high pick on him when Bernard,Franklin,Ellington,Randle and Gillislee give you good size at the RB and they can return kicks?
he's LeGarrette Blount without the stupidity off the field but not nearly the best back in the draft and ****ty value higher than the 3rd unless he rips it up at a pro day and runs a 4.49 or 4.50
