"How many 16 year old strike out the side (all swinging) in his first professional inning? Julio Urias just did".

He touched 94 mph they say.

"The Dodgers signed left-hander Julio Urias, Ben Badler of Baseball America reports. Urias, a 16-year-old from Mexico, signed for an unknown amount that will only partially count against the Dodgers’ $2.9MM spending pool for 2012-13. The prospect’s rights were transferred from Mexico City of the Mexican League, so only a limited percentage of the bonus applies to the Dodgers’ pool.

Some scouts considered Urias one of the better pitching prospects available. He has reached 92 mph on the radar gun and his change-up is one of the best secondary pitches in this year's class, according to Baseball America. Some teams had suggested that Urias would sign along with a few others for more than $1MM and maybe close to $2MM, Badler reported last month."

Another nose dive coming from the Rockies. We have some of the most unclutch players in stars in baseball, which is why we can't win consistently. Dreadful performance by the heart of our lineup outside of Cargo, as Tulo, Rosario and friends strand 15 base runners, lose in 11 to the hapless Astros.

Weiss is too cute. Why the hell is DJ Lemahieu up again?

Adam Wainwright won his 7th game today, and the Cardinals become the only MLB team with 33 wins. They're riding Wainwright too hard though, and this may cost them later on. Cincinnati and Pittsburgh are right on their heels, and they have three starters on the DL. They're also hesitant to pile up innings on their other two healthy starters, Miller and Lynn. Both very young guys who haven't had 200 inning seasons before.

Really surprising. That guy should be a great player. DL is probably the correct diagnosis.

He can't hit with runners in scoring position at all this year. Running into the wall just killed his ability. His fielding is even worse then his hitting which is sad. He should have had two errors on on play today. Scott Van Slyke should be starting in RF and they should bring up Puig and put him in LF. Crawford isn't a strong armed center, but at least he can get to the ball to catch it. Kemp won't even do that.

That's 4 Ks tonight for Matt Kemp, 8 in his past 12 at-bats, 13 in his past 21. Mean while Yasiel Puig hit two more HR's with 5 RBI's tonight. I believe that makes 10 HRs and 40 RBIs now for him. It's time to bring him up!!!

Another rookie will debut for the Cardinals on the mound tonight. Michael Wacha, last year's 1st round pick. They keep on rolling, though - 35-17.

Wacha pitched 7 two hit innings, with 8 Ks and no walks. Boggs gave up 3 runs in the 9th to cost them the game.

Looks like Kemp might be heading to the DL. I hope he get his issues fixed this time. I don't mean to sound like I hate him, he is a good player and a good guy. He just is struggling so bad hitting and playing defense it is just sad to see from a guy with his talents.

I hope he stays out until he's healthy. You hate to see a great player struggle like he has when he should be in his prime. Don't know how to explain all the strikeouts, though.

Harold Reynolds discussed Matt's slump yesterday on MLB TV. He uncovered a problem (flaw) in Matt's swing and showed video footage of a split screen, displaying how Matt is holding his bat in the batter's box. One side of the screen was last year, and the other side was today. They discovered that Matt is holding the bat too high; a good three inches higher this year than last year. They displayed how it is affecting his swing, and henceforth his low batting average.

I think he pick up this habit after his surgery on the shoulder.

Cardinal catcher Yadier Molina is not only one of the top defensive catchers in the game, and superb game-caller (especially helpful for all the young pitchers on the roster), he has become an excellent hitter. He's improved at the plate virtually every season, and this year he's hitting .355 with an .879 OPS. He may be the best Cardinal catcher ever.

Kemp to the DL. So naturally they would bring up one of the young outfielders Puig or Joe Poc right? Nope, how about a 3rd catcher. Then have a guy batting .100 as your DH and Ethier in CF! Man just when you think they are starting to make the right moves they pull this crap.

Opps I guess AJ Ellis is hurting still so that is why FedEx is up again.

Miggy hit another HR last night and hit a grand slam a little bit ago today.

Batting .373 with 17 HRs and 65 RBIs in 54 games.

Miggy is the first player in MLB history to enter the month of June with a batting average of at least .340 as well as at least 15 HR and 60 RBIs.

I'm a little surprised he's the first one to do that....not surprised that he's the first one to do that while hitting over .370.

^ You were awfully quiet during the 4 game skid!

It must be a little frustrating to be a Tigers fan thus far this season. Second best differential in baseball (best in the AL), really good starting pitching, three players with top 25 OPS, etc., and yet only 5 games above .500. They find ways to lose too many games. I'm not sure where to lay the blame, maybe you can provide some fan insight. Bullpen? All that said, I still think they're built for the postseason and I'd be shocked if they weren't in the ALCS (unless perhaps they had to play Texas in the Division Series).

Their bullpen and infield defense are their weak spots.

Phil Coke has been lousy this year and I still don't trust Jose Valverde and can't believe he's the closer again this year, but Bruce Rondon wasn't ready for that role this season.

I like how the Dodgers management refuses to bring up any of the young OF guys despite the injuries. Also maybe they should fire the trainers, hell do something to make it look like you care.
