The Cardinals now have two starters from their opening day roster - Jake Westbrook and Jaime Garcia - on the DL. They keep winning, though, rookie lefty named Gast won his 2nd game today. 28-15.

Prince Fielder makes the Rangers pay for intentionally walking Miggy to load the bases with 2 outs.

3 run double for Fielder to give the Tigers a 7-5 lead.

That's the beauty of having a bat like Prince Fielder's batting behind Miggy in the lineup.

You know it chapped Prince to see someone getting intentionally walked to load the bases with him coming to the plate.

Dammit....Texas is a tough team to play.

No lead is safe in that ball park.

Iíve seen the Dodgers twice in person this season, and both times came away thinking that the team would be OK, that manager Don Mattingly would survive.

Now Iím convinced that Mattingly is going to get fired. And the sooner it happens, the better.

The players like Mattingly. Club executives insist his lame-duck status is not an issue. But Iíve seen it too many times with unproven managers who are in the final years of contracts.

A team struggles. A managerís personality turns. A cloud forms over a club.

Watch the games, listen to Mattingly and tell me this is not happening to the Dodgers.

Rumor is that the Dodgers are scheduling a press conf. Sounds like Donnie will be fired soon!

Adam Dunn under .170. You either get a homerun or a strikeout. Not that is pathetic. Konerko is batting under .248 with 4 homeruns. Good time for Angels to at least split that series.

As a Yankee fan this makes the Pineda disaster a little more palatable.

I agree with all those points. He was acquired for his + power and he can't hit worth piss. Sooner or later he will get optioned to AAA to get his swing back (if he can find it) and we will play Shoppach at C. Montero has no future as a catcher. He will have no future in baseball if he cannot hit. He would become the DH whenever Zunino gets called up, which is likely September.

I just cannot believe he got worse after a decent showing last year. Then again, that is the Mariners luck. Trade away Adam Jones for bum-armed Erik Bedard, crap the bed with Smoak, Ackley and Montero. Guiterrez always being an injured bum.

I see that we blew the game away in the 9th today and now it is extra innings against Cleveland because of an error on the pitcher. Wee!

70 wins here we come!

yep, Pineda is supposedly doing really well in his rehab so hopefully he'll turn into a nice #2 SP for us and save that trade. of course both pitchers we got for Montero had major arm injuries right after we got them.

Another Cardinals rookie pitcher - Tyler Lyons - won his debut in San Diego last night.

ST. PETERSBURG – New York Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson, who already has missed 38 games this season after breaking his right arm, is likely to miss another month, and possibly more, with a broken left hand.

Three months to the day after he suffered a broken right forearm after being hit by a pitch from J.A. Happ in his first at-bat of spring training, Granderson suffered a broken fifth metacarpal on his left hand after being hit by a pitch from Cesar Ramos in the fifth inning Friday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.

When Lance Lynn shut the Dodgers out last night, he moved to 7-1 on the season, and 26-9 for his career. Pretty damn good start for the kid.

Every game Donnie DumDum sends out Kemp and Ethier back to back in the line up and this is what they do with RISP:
Ethier: 41 ABS, 8 HITS, 1 HR. 11 RBIS, 6 BBS, 10K'S, .195 BA, .574 OPS
Kemp: 43 ABS, 7 HITS, 0 HR, 12 RBIS, 7 BBS, 15K'S, .163 BA, .427 OPS

You would think that with the smart thing to do is not bat these two in a row.

The Dodgers have a lot of very talented players who just aren't getting the job done this season. It sucks when your entire team slumps at the same time, and doesn't reflect well on the manager.

All I know is Kemp should not be hitting 4th and Ethier shouldn't be hitting 5th.

Crawford .301
Punto .323
Kemp .266
Gonzalez .303
Ramirez .455 (limited at bats)
M. Ellis .311
Ethier .258
A.J. Ellis .271
Pitcher.

When healthy that is what I would like to see. The only thing I would change now is move the 6,7, and 8 hitters up one to replace the injured Ramirez and put Gordon in the 8th spot. Maybe even take Ethier out of the line up and put Van Slyke in his spot all together.

Beckett has been the only bad part of that Red Sox trade. Only runs scored today came from the former Red Sox players. They are walking AGon to get to Kemp. Oh how far Kemp has fallen for something like that to happen.

KKKKKKemp needs some time off. He isn't helping the team by playing hurt. Move Crawford to CF, bring Puig up, split time Ethier and SVS.
