Okay Cards fans, why on earth are the Cards not pitching Shelby Miller at all this postseason?

Matheney wants to stick with experience in the postseason and took Lance Lynn over Miller. Wacha has been unbelievably consistent and so they continue to ride him as he has more confidence in both fastball and offspeed.

I like Miller's potential, He does well with a 4 seam fastball...which dodgers and buccs hitters would pound and did pound on him during the season. Miller was a great fastball pitcher during the season, but formed some tendencies that got him in trouble in late August reverting back to the fastball as a crutch. That just won't work in postseason play. I think Miller may need further confidence and development with his offspeed game and that is the main reason Matheney has kept him in the bullpen. Postseason is all about experience and so we are seeing very calculated participation by the rookies.

Poor Cardinals. They just can't hit. I'd have to say they're a major underdog now.

Wacha beat Kershaw twice, games 2 and 6. He gave up 1 run in 14 innings against the Dodgers. He also beat Pittsburgh in Pitt when the Cardinals were down 2-1 in the series. He carried a no hitter into the 8th in that game. Wacha is good

Man the Cardinals look good now not signing him to a big contract.
I honestly never understood why the Angels would commit so much money to a player in his 30's already. I'm just amazed at how far he has fallen, so fast.
But remember, he DID help the Cardinals win 2 World Series titles. The 2011 postseason, he batted .353, 5 homeruns, 16 RBI's and an OPS of 1.155.

The Angels paid almost $40 million to hitters that combined have the following:
967 AB
122 Runs
245 Hits
51 doubles
5 Triples
38 Homeruns
143 RBI's
87 Walks
213 Strikeouts
5 Stolen Bases
.253 Average
.315 OBP
.434 SLG
.749 OPS

Meanwhile Chris Davis nearly matched all those numbers himself, including the strikeouts part

too bad...hate instant replay too.

Huge part of baseball for me is the dirt kicking and hockey fights trying to score at home.

I want to kick those reporters in the face that are asking Kershaw the rediculayous questions in the lockerroom.

Congrats Cards on making the WS.

Really bummed, had 3 teams I really liked in this and all gone. Oh well, go Red Sox!

Love it when the Yankee fans get pissed off.

That, and the 3-2 pitch that looked like a strike, that led to Scherzer getting pulled.

You mad, bro?
I'm looking forward to see the redbirds and the Red Sox play in the game's biggest stage.
Two teams that truly represent the rich history of the game of Baseball.
I'm not sure if this has happened before, but both Cardinals and Red Sox finished with the best reaord in their respective leagues, both finished tied-up for the best record in the Major League, and now thay face each other for the ultimate prize...!

Funny you've mentioned that, I was ready to come up with the possible reasons why we lost had we actually lost this game, like for example, the error by Workman, the stab he took at the ground ball by Iglesias that resulted in an infield hit, the walks by Morales, etc, etc...
It's baseball man, we all run into misfortunes and that's just part of the game...
