Cardinals even the series with the Pirates, 2-2, behind three rookie pitchers. 21, 22, and 23 years old. Damn it, Hogan.

My Red Sox are moving on...
Tough series, I was dreading to face the Tampa Bay Rays. They're a tough bunch and I really didn't want to go back to Boston tied at 2 games a piece...
We were lucky to come out with the win, and we just need to be ready for whoever we play next.
Baseball is a stressful game to watch during the play-offs. Good gracious, man!

I hate the fact, there is only about 2 1/2 guys in the bullpen that we can really depend on. Thank god the starting pitching has been strong and goes 6 to 7 innings a game.

I hear ya' there.
Breslow was superb yesterday, our bullpen is sketchy but like you say, we're only about 2-3 good relievers deep.
As long as we keep Franklin Morales out, we will be fine, Morales flat out sucks!

Morales was terrible with the Rockies, I do not understand how he got to be on the Red Sox roster.

BYE BYE BUCCS! Wacca Wacha Wainwright!

As they headed into their deciding Game 5, the Cardinals and Pirates had very little daylight between them. After all, the Cardinals, though they did win the division, did so by only three games. The Pirates were slightly better head-to-head in the regular season, winning 10 of the 19 games. The run differential in the four games so far in the NLDS was a mere +1 to the Cardinals (15-14)...it be over...

"People seem to forget that the Cardinals are only popular by default. Apparently the benefit of having a giant ****ing transmitter that broadcasts to like 30 states is that everyone's Dad was a Cardinals fan in the 60s and now there are 8 billion little Cardinals babies running around acting like they were voted America's team by the Mount Rushmore presidents."

Pretty funny - and accurate - comment.

If the Cardinals win 11 postseason games, they'll win their 12th World Championship in '13.

Justin Verlander owns Oakland....he shut them down twice in the playoffs last season and shut them down twice again this season in the playoffs.

JV tonight: 8 innings 2 hits 0 ER 1 BB 10 Ks.

JV's 4 starts versus Oakland in the playoffs the last 2 seasons: 31 innings 9 hits 1 ER 7 BB 43 Ks.

Props to Victor Martinez....when that loud mouth relief pitcher Grant Balfour was talking some **** at the end of Game 3, Victor Martinez got pissed off and it fired the Tigers up the rest of the series.

He's got to just be in their heads completely at this point.

Beltran ties the game 2-2 in bottom of 3rd (inches from a HR).

In extra innings Beltran calls off Jay and throws a ROPE to home plate to protect the 2-2 tie...going into the bottom of 10th inning.

...guess who That's right again the man registers in with the game winning RBI in the bottom of the 14th!

Strong Game all around for Beltran as Cards go up 1-0 on the Dodgers.
