I agree with a lot of that article....Bud Selig has a hard on for A-Rod, he doesn't deserve the penalty Selig wants to impose on him compared to the penalties for the other players caught up in this investigation.

Torii Hunter smacked a walk off 3 run HR (Earl Weaver special) with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Tigers a come from behind 7-6 win versus Oakland today.

That dude has been worth every penny the Tigers have paid him this season.

A solid glove in right field. .308 batting average, 81 runs scored, 156 hits, 31 doubles, 4 triples, 16 HRs, and 70 RBIs.

Those are beautiful stats for the #2 bat in your lineup.

As much as I hate to admit it. A-Rod has had a huge impact on the Yanks success.
If I didn't want his contract gone I might actually root for the guy to beat MLB.

This is why you have to like their chances in the postseason. Their ace gets completely outpitched by Bartolo freaking Colon and they find a way to win anyway.

The Red Sox butt throttled (no lube) the Tigers tonight 20-4.

The Red Sox went yard 8 times....David Ortiz led the way with 2 of the HRs and reached the 2,000 hit mark for his career.

Todd Helton reached the 2,500 career hit mark last Sunday.

Helton would have had a shot at 3,000 career hits if he hadn't had those 3 or 4 seasons where he missed a lot of games due to injuries.

Yeah, its a shame he had to battle a bad back, which killed his power too. A lot of people point to steroids, but his back is what killed his power. I really hope he gets a strong consideration for the HOF, but I doubt he gets in. Still, 2,500 hits, 350+ homeruns, 580+ doubles, career average .317, career OBP over .400, OPS over .900, 1300 runs and 1300 RBI's, very impressive career.

Also, I think its funny hearing about the Scherzer run support arguments. This isn't like Roger Clemens in 2001, Scherzer is pitching terrific. Yeah his record would probably be more like say 16-5 if his run support wasn't as it is, but still, in the tops ERA, K leader, WHIP leader, he's been amazing.

Side note, I don't see Trout being talked about much this year, I guess because the Angels have been such a huge disapointment this year. Only 21 years old and dominating in the big leagues. He's going to fill up that trophy case for sure. I don't know why Bryce Harper gets talked about more than Trout.

Harper isnt even in the same ballpark as Trout.
TROUT HARPER
.335 BA .275BA
23 HR 19 HR
82 RBI 49 RBI
31 SB 8 SB
95 RUNS 62 RUNS
172 HITS 98 HITS
.433 OBP .378 OBP
36 DOUBLES 46 DOUBLES
9 TRIPLES 12 TRIPLES

Trout is the best baseball player in the world right now. He does it all, and he does it all well. Now if only the rest of his team and manager would do the same.
And yes, i am extremelly pissed about letting Torii go for a no talent, ass- clown like Hamilton.

Unfortunately, my dire worries about Cardinals pitching have all come true.

bwahaha....spare me the 'we suck' line about your Cardinals....they are 81-60 and .5 games out of first place.

You're spoiled by the team's success....they've had one losing season since 1999.

'We suck' should be reserved for the 47-94 Houston Astros.

'We suck' should be reserved for the 2003 Detroit Tigers, who went 43-119....or the Detroit Tigers when they had losing seasons from 1994 to 2005.

'We suck' was perfect for the Pirates and their 20 consecutive losing seasons.

I'm sure your 81-60 Cardinals have their flaws, but the 'we suck' line is melodramatic hyperbole.

Well two night in a row the Red Sox have destroyed the Yankees late, to expanded their lead in the division. Hopefully they win today and take the series.

I wish the Angels weren't ****ting the bed this season so we could have another debate between Cabrera and Trout for MVP.
Both having unreal seasons again.

Poor Cardinals squeek by Pittsburgh, 5-0.

Lucky outing for Wainwright.

I think it's hilarious that Alex Rodriguez is playing decent for the Yankees and contributing down the stretch.

A-Rod is batting .301 on the season with 7 doubles, 5 HRs, and 12 RBIs.

I'm sure Brian Cashman cringes everytime A-Rod does something decent in a game.

I hope he keeps it up the rest of the season.

Rick Porcello pitched the first complete game of his career:

9 IP 7 hits 1 ER 1 BB 5 Ks (105 pitches 77 strikes 28 balls)

12-8 on the season with a 120 K to 40 BB ratio and a 4.56 ERA

I'll take that from the 5th starter on my team

Prince Fielder was 4 of 5 with a HR (23rd) and 2 RBIs (98th and 99th of season).

Alex Avila has had a much better 2nd half of the season and also added in 2 runs, 4 hits, a double, and 2 RBIs.

Interesting read on the Red Sox rebuild. I haven't yet decided if their FO is lucky or good. Almost everything they did worked. FML.

Don't forget walks too.

Bases on balls
NAME TEAM BB
Trout Anaheim 91
Cabrera Detroit 81
EncarnacionToronto 81
Santana Cleveland 80
Butler Kansas City 72
Dunn Chicago 70
Bautista Toronto 69
Pedroia Boston 69
Kipnis Cleveland 69
Fielder Detroit 68

Except in HRs, he is top 10 in everything else. Harper and Trout were the talk last season as young rookies. Dude just turned 22 and is far from a sophmore slump. MVP numbers once again. Only superstar for this season and is now batting 3rd in the lineup once Albert was out for the season.

The Tigers beat the Royals 6-3.

Prince Fielder hit his 24th HR of the season and had 3 RBIs....that puts him over 100 RBIs on the season (102 RBIs).
