I haven't seen to many Gator games besides when they playied UGA or LSU. But I wanted to know what's so different from Reggie Nelson coming out and Matt Elam?

I'm more on the Eric Reid bandwagon because of his value. He has range and can come up in hit with a big frame. You can get him in the second (an instant starter and upgrade over Moore) and focus on getting another big time player in the first.

All the talk on the safeties this year, but not one is a first round safety! None of them have it all. Not one.

Vaccaro is way overrated, because there is no elite safety prospect. Dude ran almost 4.6 today. Not first round speed and not first round coverage instincts.

Matt Elam is Bob Sanders small, and NOWHERE near as fast or quick. Yes he was a stud at Florida, but Requiem put it very well. He had NFL talent all around him and he could play loose with his assignments. If he keeps hitting the way sanders did, he will end up just like Bob and sitting half the year watching his team play IMHO.

No freaking way you pick a safety in the first round this year, there are quality guys 4 rounds deep who can start and play well. Just no Playmakers at the next level.

Again, Agreed.
Wow! Twice in one day!
Didnt think that was possible.
I really dont think therea team willing to take one of these guys high.
However, i do think BALT could fall in love with Phillip Thomas with the very last pick in the draft, simply because hes a better football player than a combine guy, and they might think hes the centerfielder they need for the future.
Justs my 2 cents on the one possibility of a safety going in the 1st this year.
other than that hypothetical, i dont see it happeneing either.

You can pick any time within that 12 hours. The first round usually goes pretty quick.

Matt Elam **** the bed.

Xavier Rhodes cemented Top 25 status.

Johnthan Banks is going to have to move to safety after running int he 4.6.

Darius Slay boss hogged on candy.

Marcus Trufant is a sure fire first rounder after running in the 4.3s.

Jordan Poyer had a good time in the mid 4.4s.

That banks showing doesn't do too much justice. On tape the dude is much better. Too bad he's gonna fall due to one days workout.

Then nobody will take a safety in the first round. There will always be teams needing a safety, but it's not a typical first round position. They're only taken if they're the BPA and likely going to be all-pro.

Unless somebody disagrees with Med. Mayock loves him some Vaccaro and says he's a top fifteen pick.

no he won't, he's a CB and will be fine after his pro day. the 4.6 may drop him but he's a CB all the way and he will be one in the NFL.

Well, Moore can compete with Carter. And we can get a SS.

Or we can do what I just did in my draft, draft Trufant, move Champ to FS, and then address SS in FA/later in draft.

I'm just really not sure Moore is an impact FS. He doesn't have good ball skills, he is not intelligent, he takes bad angles. I just don't see impact FS..

Champ would upgrade FS with intelligence, ball skills, and good angles, but what's the long term answer?

I don't think anybody would disagree with you on Moore. But you can't resolve everything...unfortunately. They have said good things about Carter, and he did start in 2011, so he should compete at the least. I don't have any film on his 2011 starts.

If Champ moved to FS, he would solidify it for the rest of his contract at the least, giving us plenty of time to worry about it post Peyton Manning.

We looked at both FS and SS prospects.. If we were convinced the position was locked up we wouldn't have been looking..

I am just not convinced Bailey should play FS..just for the sake of improving FS. If Champ covers the possession receiver/hybrid slot he will excell.

That was BEFORE he ran like a slow Mike LBer

I think the kid is good on tape, but NOT great. I also hate Texas players due to consistent NFL underperformance issues
