Default BMORE Mock 1.0

I have really been trying to wait and I just can't wait any longer. I'm not sure what extra picks we have, so I will do a traditional 1-7 mock.

1. Kyle Van Noy LB (BYU) What's not to love about his game?

2. Derrick Hopkins DT (Virginia Tech)
After what happened to Vickerson this season, and the poor showing of Sly, I would add depth and upgrade Unrein and Sly. He is my favorite scheme fitting DT from the draft class.

3. Andre Hall CB (Vanderbilt) This is a gritty physical corner. Given our impending free agents at Corner, you can't have enough quality cover guys. I like his skillset in our scheme.

4. Donte Moncrief WR (Ole Miss) This is a physical receiver who can also win getting vertical. What I like about him is that he is very good at beating the press off the line of scrimmage.

5. Jake Ryan LB (Michigan) This is a very quality football player and was one of the best players on that defense prior to injury which will hurt his draft stock. This could be another middle round steal and really bolster our LB depth and competition.

6. Spencer Long G (Nebraska) This is your steal of the draft at Guard, Long really just needs to regain his health and form. Otherwise he's an early day two selection. Perfect for us Clarke can fill in and play LG until Long is healthy and ready.

7. Colt Lyeria TE (Oregon) This isn't your typical move by Elway and Co., but this kid has unreal potential, not really a scheme fit in Oregon and he has off the field issues. Hopefully he's not the Aaron Hernamdez of the draft, but his play certainly resembles.

Way too high for Hopkins, Moncrief is way too low.

I like Van Noy and the Hal picks. Hal can ball and doesn't get much attention. Great PD.

Need another DB, preferably a S. Wouldn't bother with Colt, he's crazy.

Hopkins is not going to fall past the third round. He is the best scheme fit in my opinion at Defensive Tackle. I would have no problems taking him in the second. Moncrief had a quieter season and saw his value here. I could be wrong.

But this far out focus on players and talents, even if the rounds are 1 off!

You guys watch too much football for me! I have not even begun to evaluate this years crop. I just wish the NCAA had something like game rewind for scouting purposes....

Game rewind works well with coaches tape, be nice to evaluate some players with that. I can still get some cutups from people from time to time, but not like I used to.

I think we need two Safeties myself, but I don't see the front office taking one from this crop of prospects if they passed from the deep class last season.

When you have a big TV at your apartment and only digital cable antenna to get CBS, ABC and FOX -- there isn't much else you can watch.

Clinton-Dix or Joyner work just fine for me.

Sly Eli likes Joyner, I see both of those players as more Free Safety types. So that would mean moving on from Moore, because Dix is a first round selection.

Joyner is the healthy version of Bob Sanders Mediator has been waiting for.

This guy can be moved all over, play either spot, nickelback and contribute in a big way right away. Place that in there with PR/KR skills and he is a good value for us. I think he bolsters a lot of places on our defense and is great, aggressive and pursues with good angles. Definitely one of my favorite guys in the draft.

Has nothing to do with FSU bias either -- he is just an incredible prospect IMHO.

He's more Tryan Mathieu than Bob Sanders.. Not that that's a bad thing.

I just want additions to our secondary that include instinctual players with a nose for the ball. Whether it is INT's, FF, TFL -- Joyner provides that. If he could end up being like either (and stay healthy) I would be happy. He is one of the most intimidating and physical players on the Noles. I believe his playing weight is ~ 205 or so now, so he's much bigger than he was a few years ago.

I might try and do a mock of mine soon.

I think Ryan got a medical redshirt and will be back at Michigan next year.

Maybe they thought they were stacked? A weak S crop means FA safeties should be looked at. It's a definite problem

I think our FO didn't want to give up on the young players yet. I still believe that is the same thought process. There are players in the draft and free agency who could help us!

Agree with all of this. Joyner is a hybrid between Sanders and Mathieu, with the run stuffing/hitting ability of sanders and the versatility/coverage instincts/quickness of the honey badger. I haven't watched much college football this season but he's a guy that really stands out to me...some guys you can just tell will be impact players at the next level.

Clinton-Dix doesn't impress me at all, and Alabama has had a lousy track record recently with high draft pick DBs recently.I think he failed a drug test or two as well. Don't see elway and co. pulling the trigger on him with a first round pick.

That is a great article. If the team that gets him tries him out at corner, the Winfield comparison is a really solid one. Some had said Tim Jennings too, but I think he will be way better than that.

That is a solid article about his complete skillset. Some decent film in there as well to back up his assessments. This kid looks a lot like Mathieu but without the idiot issues. His versatility is impressive and he has his head on straight for a Seminole

Count me in as a great idea to get him in the 32cd spot of this years draft! In fact he might drop to the end of the first on his measurables, but he plays much, much bigger on tape.
